Acai Biofunctional Botanical Extract
Açai palm, or aqai, is one of several species of palm tree native to Brazil. Acai Biofunctional Extract is produced using a blend of dried Acai pulp, vegetable glycerin and water. It is GMO free, preservative free and biodegradable.
Appearance: Brown to dark brown liquid.
Benefits: Currently considered to be a “superfruit”, Acai berries are said to be rich in antioxidants that are beneficial to the skin. Antioxidants help to decrease cell destruction which in turns helps to combat the aging process and keeps skin more firm and youthful. Acai Extract is considered useful as a natural color in formulations and also as an astringent to help heal small cuts and wounds.
Application: Acai Biofunctional Extract can be used in anti-aging creams, after-sun products, creams, lotions, facial masks, shampoo and conditioners.
Properties:
•Stable in pH 4 to12.
•Stable in temperatures below 40 – 50 degrees Celcius.
•Soluble in alcohol, water and surfactants.
•Promotes natural color transfer.
•Preservative free.
