Botanical Name: Prunus dulcis

Extraction Method: Cold Pressed

Description: Sweet Almond Carrier Oil is an excellent emollient and is known for its ability to soften and re-condition the skin. It is rich in proteins, Olein Glyceride Linoleic Acid and Vitamin D, and is considered extremely nourishing - particularly when used regularly. It can be expected to sooth dry skin and irritated areas. Massage therapists should note that it can stain sheets.

Color: Pale yellow to golden yellow liquid.

Aromatic Description: Sweet Almond Carrier Oil has very little scent characteristic of most carrier oils.

Common Uses: Sweet Almond Carrier Oil has been used as an aromatic-bitter for anorexia, as a digestive tonic, to promote menstruation and to reduce fever and expel worms. It is also used by massage therapists.

Consistency: Typical and Characteristic of Carrier Oils

Absorption: Absorbs into skin at average speed, slight oil feeling left on skin.

Shelf Life: Users can expect a shelf life of 1 year with proper storage conditions (cool, out of direct sunlight). Refrigeration after opening is recommended.

Sweet Almond oil is one of my favorites, blends very well with other carrier and essential oils. I use Sweet Almond in combination with Hemp and Grape seed oils in all my lotions,creams and butter formulations. Great conditioning oil, regular user will notice increased softening and subtleness in skin reconditioning. I have been extremely happy with all of the oil products purchased from New Directions.

Lovely oil. My only complaint, or at least a tip would be to note that people with nut allerges should avoid this oil. I happen to be allergic and for reasons that make no sense, I slathered it on after a shower. Though I had to wash it off( I felt a reaction coming on), the moments before, my skin felt wonderful.

This is great quality almond oil. I always mix Grapeseed oil and almond oil for my daily body and face lotion. My father is huge into skin care, and when he heard that I had almond oil, he just had to have some. He really likes it too. I don't use this as the main oil for my skin, because I have oily skin. It is thicker and leaves more of a residue than the Grapeseed.

Sweet Almond oil is excellent for massage. It is also good for your dogs ears !!! My dog was scratching her ears like crazy and they had a bad odor too, so someone told me to try Sweet Almond oil mixed with Lavender, Bergamot, and Niaouli oils--in less than 2 days she was all better, no more itchy ears and boy does she smell wonderful !!

I use the almond oil as a base for my face oil. I mixed in a couple of drops of Carrot Seed and Australian Blue Cypress EOs along with a small amount of seabuckthorn and grapeseed COs. It makes my mature skin feel so smooth and supple. Excellent quality and great for the skin.

Very nice oil. I have used it to dilute essential oils in my bath and for moisturizing after the bath again mixed with essential oils. I mix in a little avocado oil for extra vitamins etc and my skin is so soft.

Almond sweet virgin is more pleasant in my opinion that fractionated coconut, yet it is still cheaper. The only advantages of using fractionated coconut may be the fact that less people will complain of possible allergic reactions to products with which it is made. This is an excellent product if you're not allergic to almonds. it is actually scentless.
