Description: Angelica is also known by the common names Archangel Root, Masterwort, Wild Celery, Root of the Holy Ghost, and Dong Quai. The whole plant is aromatic and grows up to about six feet (2 meters) high and has dramatic spherical heads of tiny flowers.
Color: Light yellow to orange-brown viscous liquid.
Common Uses: Angelica eases muscular aches, soothes arthritic joints and rheumatic pains; eases indigestion problems and wind and improves poor appetite. Angelica is highly valued as a fragrance component in soaps, lotions and perfumes, especially oriental fragrances. Emotionally, Angelica Root is recommended for fatigue and stress related illnesses.

Blends well with: Cedarwood; Frankincense; Sandalwood Aromatic Scent: Peppery top note with a herbaceous, earthy, woody notes and a spicy undertones. History: The root was often recorded from medieval and renaissance times as Angel's herb or the 'Root of the Holy Spirit' because of its incredible healing properties and was known in the Middle Ages as The Angels Herb for its almost miraculous healing strength.
Cautions: Angelica essential oil is considered generally non-toxic and non-irritant; however it is known to be photo-toxic. After any application to the skin, avoid direct exposure to strong sunlight for up to 12 hours. Avoided during pregnancy.
