It is matched by a strong bitter taste. History: Also known as Tree of Life, Native Americans put boughs of arborvitae on teepee poles, said to ward off lightning. Thunderbird was said to nest in mountain cedars. Arborvitae oil has long been home distilled and used as an insect repellent. Cautions: Avoid during pregnancy. Fantastic price! This is a great additive to any insect repellent blend, and quite strong, not much is needed. This is by far the best price I've seen on the market for such a great quality oil.
