Botanical Name: Argania Spinosa

Description: Argan Carrier Oil is an oil produced from the kernels of the endemic Argan tree, that is valued for its nutritive, cosmetic and numerous medicinal properties. Grown in North Africa and mainly in Morocco, the Argan tree grows wild in semi-desert soil, and is extremely well adapted to drought. Argan Oil is considered to be one of the rarest oils in the world due the small and very specific growing area and is under protection of UNESCO.

Color: Pale yellow to golden yellow liquid

Aromatic Description: Argan Carrier Oil has a nutty, spicy and oily scent.

Common Uses: Argan Carrier Oil is used in manufacturing soaps, creams and shampoos. It is rich in vitamin E, carotenes, antioxidants and essential fatty acids, is used for massage, facials and as an ingredient in anti-aging cream and even aftershave lotion for men. Argan Oil can also be used to nourish the hair making it shiny and healthy looking.

Consistency: Typical and Characteristic of Carrier Oils.

Absorption: Absorbs into skin at average speed, slight oil feeling left on skin.

Shelf Life: Argan Carrier Oil is slow to become rancid; users can expect a shelf life of 1 to 2 years with proper Storage (cool, out of direct sunlight). Refrigeration after opening is recommended.

This oil is very nice in hair conditioners and you really can't beat the price. You don't need a lot to get great results which i love. It also gives a really nice shine to hair especially when added to hot oil treatments. The smell is not the easiest on the nose but again you really don't need a lot and can be masked well with EOs.

This oil feels great on your skin, but I was not prepared for the revolting smell. Really turned my stomach. I have never smelled an oil that smelled this bad before. I added ginger, lemon tea tree, and rosewood e.o. to cover up, but I had to use a lot. Unless I experience miracles with my skin, I will not order this again.

I really wanted to love this oil after hearing so much about the antioxidant levels. it has a stronger odor than I like and it changes the scent of the essential oils i mix with it. I end up having to put more essential oils into it than I'd like to which is causing me to run out of my oils quickly. I won't purchase this again.

I'm using Argan as both a leave in hair conditioner and in my facial oils. I've got mature skin and adding that to light oils that sink in along with carrot seed and so far I like what I'm seeing and love the fact my face isn't oily. I'll be using this in body oils for more mature skin. Argan is also good for acne prone skin as well. I have a trick I use which is the scrubby pads using the oil alone and then a microdermabrasion cloth in warm water to remove the acess after a bit......my skin is clean and now my mind is really in high gear for the 'perfect oil' for skin AND hair. I do like dual products.

i started using this oil on my face and neck about a month ago, i mix a small amount with my regular cream in the a.m and my make up stays perfectly. my skin just drinks this up. at night i put a generous amount as a last step to my routine, either over retinol moisturizer or aha moisturizer, i alternate nights wthese. i have noticed a definite increase in the plumpness of my skin, i started noticing the difference after about a week of consistant use. i have also been using baobab oil around my eyes and on my lips. i feel that adding these products has improved the moisture level of my skin like nothing else. i am 37 and have minimal wrinkles, but my skin is very dry, and nothing ever lasts the course of the day & if i put something heavy on, my makeup doesnt hold, which looks just as bad as dehydratedtired skin. in summary, my skin looks and feels plump and hydrated, not oily or greasy. my eye bags are less noticible because that area has plumped up too. people have been asking what im doing, that tells me that the difference is obvious to others as well. i hope to see continued improvement, but am happy if these results remain.

I love this stuff. I've put it in shampoo and conditioner, and added it to a spray oil that I use (along with tea tree chinese EO and evening primrose CO) to treat my psoriasis condition. It leaves skin and hair both feeling conditioned. Best of all, however, I have added it to my usual silicone-based hair styling product (two drops) and my hair looks amazing after blowdrying. It is an unbelievable difference I determined that I had to try this because a friend of mine is addicted to moroccanoil products - upon investigation, I learned that this product line is, essentially, a number of silicone based styling products with a little argan oil added in. (Moroccanoil costs the moon). I am glad that I tried this. This is an amazing addition to my personal regimen. For people interested in commercial applications, this would be a great addition to natural hair care products, and argan oil is so trendy now. You can't beat the price either.
