Botanical Name: Argania Spinosa

Extraction Method: Cold Pressed

Description: Grown in North Africa and mainly in Morocco, the Argan tree grows wild in semi-desert soil, and is extremely well adapted to drought. Argan Oil is produced from the seeds of this plant and is considered to be one of the rarest oils in the world due the small and very specific growing area.

Color: Pale yellow to golden yellow liquid.

Aromatic Description: Organic Argan Oil has a nutty, spicy and oily scent.

Common Uses: Organic Argan Oil is rich in antioxidants and omega 6 fatty acids, and is believed to contain twice as much vitamin E as olive oil. It is said to contain saponins, which helps to soften the skin and restore the skin’s water lipid layer, thereby minimizing wrinkles. It can also be used to ease cases of acne and eczema helping the skin to maintain a youthful, glowing appearance. Organic Argan Oil can be used to manufacture soaps, creams, facial products, hair care products, and as an ingredient in anti-aging creams and even aftershave lotions for men.

Consistency: Typical and Characteristic of Carrier Oils.

Absorption: Absorbs into skin at average speed, leaving a slight oily feeling on the skin.

Shelf Life: Organic Argan Oil is very stable; users can expect a shelf life of 12 to 18 months with proper storage conditions (cool, out of direct sunlight). Refrigeration after opening is recommended.

I love, love, love this oil for everything. The scent is light and fades quickly. I apply it straight from the bottle to my skin and it absorbs quickly and leaves it amazingly soft and healthy feeling. I put it on my daughter who suffers from eczema and when my husband came home at night he visibly noticed a difference in how her skin looked after one day. I made a whipped body butter with hemp seed butter, etc and some of this and it leaves skin luxuriously soft and hydrated. Great product and price point - you won't be disappointed with this purchase.

This oil is as pure as it gets. I bought other argan oil from different source but is nowhere close to what I received from New Direction. I love this oil and am using it on my hair. Thanks for this wonderful quality product.

I wanted to make a correction to my previous review on this product: the product is not cloudy (I used it in an eye-dropper and was able to realise that) plus the scent fades quickly. I do however like the scent, so that is ok.

I recieved my argan organic carrier oil today, and I am so happy with it!! I got the 100 ml sample, and it absorbs very quickly into the skin. Lately I have been using Josie Maran argan oil, and although I do really like it, my last bottle cost me $58 plus tax for 50 ml!! That is way too much. It seems that JM argan oil is more refined than the NDA oil, being more clear (I could be wrong but looking through the NDA bottle the oil looks a bit cloudy) and having a less potent scent. However, the NDA oil probably has more nutrients from less processing. Plus, I don't mind the scent of argan oil. For this price, I can use argan oil all over my body, whereas before it was relegated to my face, hair, and hands (and neck). Thank you so much NDA for offering this wonderful carrier oil at affordible prices. :D

This a tonic oil in so many ways. It does wonders for the hair: as a pre-treatment, it nourishes; can also be used after shampooing for shine, body, and protection. A little goes a very long way, with no greasy feel. For the face, it leaves a smooth feel, without disrupting the skin mantle. The scent only seems noticeable when used at full strength. So glad that NDA carries this product! The price point cannot be matched.

This oil is exceptional! I am using this oil as a night serum and it does wonders for my skin. In the morning, my skin is nourished, moisturised and soft. Combined with tea tree EO, this is an excellent treatment to keep my acne under control since argan oil regulates sebum production. Apparently, it is also an excellent treatment for the hair when rubbed in the hair and scalp 30 minutes before shampoo. I need to try that next time. I would avoid to use it during the day though since I have read that it burns the skin and hair when exposed to the sun.
