Botanical Name: Arnica montana
Infused in Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Standardization: 11.375 % dry herb/L of oil
Common Uses: Arnica has been used medicinally for centuries. It is reputed to have anti-inflammatory properties and can be used in liniment and ointment preparations for sprains, bruises, arthritis, insect bites, aches and pains. It relieves pain and provides an overall soothing experience.
Topically, Anica can be used in preparations for tinctures, creams, ointment, compress and poultices.
Common Uses:
Tinctures: 1:10 dried flower prepared with 70% ethanol
Creams & Ointments: 20 - 25% tincture or a maximum of 15% arnica oil
Compresses: Tincture diluted 3 - 10 times with water
Poultices: Tincture diluted 3 - 10 times with water
Cautions: Arnica should only be applied to unbroken skin as it promotes blood circulation and may increase bleeding of wounds.

New Directions arnica oil surpassed all of my expectations. Many of my customers use it on a regular bases. This past winter I applied it to a very badly buised elbow, the result of a bad fall on ashpalt, the bruising was gone in 2 days. Many of my arthitic customers enjoy improved movement and comfort from using the arnica oil directly on the joint, the olive oil allows you to use a little bit with great results.
