Rising to six feet this hardwood shrub with its tiny dark green leaves is a necessity for perennial gardens in mild winter areas where the temperature doesn't go below 20 degrees. The purple flowers are tinted with pink, which makes an attractive complement to gray shrubs and other pink flowers. Color: Pale yellow Common Uses: Antibacterial; Antifungal; Carminative. The plant is rich in volatile oils, including menthol and cineole. The leaves are antibacterial, antifungal and carminative. They are used externally in the treatment of colds and headaches. Consistency: Medium Note: Middle Strength of Aroma: Medium Blends well with: Lavender, peppermint, spearmint, citronella, and lemongrass Aromatic Scent: Spicy minted scent with eucalyptus or bush type notes. I decided to use this oil in my soaping business. Incredible scent. Minty, but not overwhelming, grassy, but not too earthy. Absolutely, hands down, one of the best scents offered by New Directions.
