I've made several alien heads for a sale tomorrow out of a combination of olive oil and a tad of white MP base. I used the black to paint the eyes. They looked awesome... until I wrapped them! I wanted to test one, so I unwrapped it late yesterday. The paint pulled away from the soap, leaving awful blotches on the eyes and putting black marks onto the faces. I didn't know what I should do but finally came up with an idea. I would put a layer of clear olive oil soap over the faces... after I repaired the eyes, that is. This didn't turn out too bad, although sometimes the overcoat didn't turn out as well as I had hoped. At least the soaps now look not too bad. They are souvenirs for our local Star Trek convention, so they should be okay. I have painted soap before but it was for my own use... so no wrapping was involved. I followed the directions, although I didn't seem to need the cornstarch to get the paint to stick. Anyway, the black was pretty easy to use, although it wasn't as thick as I would have liked. It did flow nicely though and a little went a long way to covering the eyes. It took only two coats on most of the soaps as well, which I was surprised at. Black usually takes three to cover. So all-in-all, I'd say this is a pretty good soap paint. I don't think I'll try painting alien heads again though. LOL
