Thank you, thank you, thank you New Directions for an AWESOME product. This truly is the best butter body base out there by far at an AMAZING price. My order came yesterday and I made up 6 different scented body butters and put them in the jars I also purchased from New Direction. My customers were absolutely ecstatic. So much so I am going to have to re-order some more to keep up with the demand. You can NOT go wrong with this base. I added an oil of my choice, colorant and scent and that is all this base needed. The reviews from my customers says it all!!!

I have to say WOW!! When it comes to this Body Butter. I had ordered your body butter for my company's new line body products. I decided to use the body butter first before I offered it to my customers. I added some of your Essential Oils and my daughter and I tried it. I have to say from the moment we put it on we feel in love with the product. My daughter and I have very dry skin in the cooler months and we found that the body butter really eliminates our skin from drying and feeling itchy. I must say that my partners love this as much as I do and I can be sure to say that it will be a hit with my customers.

I don't usually write reviews; but i must now. I had purchased this product a couple of months ago in the summer. Not wanting to be too "oily" for the summer, I put it down and waited untill Sept. That's when my skin gets very dry and flaky. Boy o' boy, what a wonderful product you have here. I put some in that cut lil verve gold jar you sell. I added some eo, can't remember which, but the effect of the cream really had me going. It relieved my itchiness one night and then I was really hooked! I made a jar for my daughter, which she keeps at her desk at work. Now that the days are getting a little cooler for sure, I'm going to package some jars for some nurses who are interested in my products, which I was only making as a hobby. I use this straight out of the jar and have no problem with the aroma. I see why you have so many positive reviews on this item. Thanks for the time and effort you put into your products.

This is an amazing quality body butter, it's about as thick as vaseline but not greasy!!! I had to cut down on things that I wanted to add to it because it's texture, level of absorption and moisturizing was better than any body butter i've ever used before including the one from the body shop which was my favourite. I tried a bit with mango extract, but I think a little f/o or e/o and maybe a little colour ( it's pure white) is all that should be added if anything. Takes very nicely to Sweet orange e/o and butter cream icing f/o

I was a little nervous trying this body butter because I spent so much time dwelling on a couple of the negative comments mentioned earlier. But I tried it and I LOVE it!!! I love how my skin feels. I can't remember the last time my skin ever felt this wonderful! I don't find this greasy at all. As far as smell, yes it has a faint smell when I first opened it but its not a bad smell at all! I added some of my favorite FO's and oils and whipped it. It smells awesome and feels even better!

This is an amazing Body Butter Product. I used it for several products. My son and husband loved it too! I have at least 75 customers already asking for Holiday orders that are so significant I will have to order some each month to get enough to fill all the requests--and I just ordered it a month ago. It foams nicely, it takes to the fragrance and holds! I only wish I would have discovered this along time ago! Lathers well!!!!

I love this product! I use it when I make my bath and body products and I find that it mixes very well and takes scent very nicely too. I made a Strawberry and a Peach body butter and body butter scrub. They are awesome!

I received my order and opened the body butter. It has the most pleasent fresh scent to it. It's thick and creamy and doesn't take very much to cover your skin. I love it!!

Absolutely love this body butter base! It's thick and creamy, doesn't dry sticky. Absorbs well but also provides a bit of a barrier like a body butter should. Blends well with EOs.. it's great!

Also not sure whether to give this 4 or 5 stars...
Good review: Not to much liquid, not to thick, easy to mix up, moisturizes GREAT and doesn't leave oily film on top like other BB, great price!
Bad review: Smells like a chemical so I'm afraid my customers wont like the manufactured smell, you have to add a TON of FO to cover up the smell...
The base is great...just the smell is a toss up.

Toss up as to wheather to give this 4 or 5 stars.
POSSITIVE: Very thick, absorbs very well and very fast. Not greasy but very moisturizing. Great price.
NEGATIVE: Has a scent that I am not use to with most body butters. Hope it will go away with enough fragrance. The jar was dirty at the top even though the taped seal was in place. Looks like another dark base of some sort was at the top of the jar along with a black piece of something. I took a picture should New Directions want to see this.

I absolutely adore this product! Yes, it is very thick! However, this makes perfect for blending with floral waters, rose being my favorite to make a wonderful, lightly scented blend. I have psoriasis, and within a few days, my itchy, scaly skin was much softer and beginning to heal. I never realized how soft my skin could be. I highly recommend this product!

This body butter gives me the convenience I need in making individual personal products for various needs of clients. It works well with essential oils for pain creams or essential oils for skin problems or relaxing oils for body creams. It blends wonderful with the additions of small amounts of base oils and floral waters to make it truly an unique and effective product. I would recommend it for all your needs and it is the best base I have ever tried.

This body butter is amazing. I love mixing some peppermint, bergamot, grapefruit and lemongrass e.o.'s into it. It is so refreshing and it really works. I have always suffered from dry skin in the winter until this year. I've been telling everybody about it.

I was skeptical about trying this body butter base. Soon as it arrived I opened it and tried it - it's amazing. As far as the consistency of the product, it's silky and smooth. Feels great on the skin. The scent isn't the greatest, but that's why it's a "base." Just an amazing texture/feel to this body butter.

Deeeelicious. I was expecting a thick-ish lotion base but this is more like cake frosting! Its incredibly thick but very easily absorbed. I gave some samples to my coworkers to get their feedback: We call it the Mr. Burns effect because we are all walking around the office slowly rubbing our hands together because we can't believe how soft they feel! It's cold in NY! but my skin is sofffffffffft. *yum*

Very oily/greasy feeling...might be from the petrolatum in it. Takes a WHILE to absorb into the skin. Slight chemical odor (not very pleasant).

I really like this product, but I must say that I am quite disappointed, as some of the other comments below have stated, this product does have a chemical odor. I also noticed that after weeks have passed, the odor is persistant and the only way to cover the scent is to use an entire bottle of Fragrant or EO's. I love the consistancy of this products, however I think it needs to be modified and created with Organic or a different kind of preservatives to avoid this chemical scent.

I use a wide range of your products with great results.
This butter gave me a drying allergic reaction, certainly due to the mixing of plant based oil and mineral oil.
Having used for years only 100% pure plant products, my skin tells me immediately that the quality of this body butter is not of high standards. Through a reaction and perspiration my skin tries to reject this product. Not surprisingly, as plants usually detox the body from synthetic components.

After reading all the reviews we thought we would give it another try. We added just a little more fragrance and it did the trick. That chemical smell was masked. With the those cold dry winter days ahead, my customers will sure love this butter.

We have tried several products and this is one of the better ones. However, we decided not to go with it because we can't seem to get past the chemical smell that comes with it. You can cover it all you want but that smell is still there.

I have tried a lot of pre-made bases and this is by far the best! I don't go a day without slathering it on to survive the dry winter here. I wanted to make sure I liked it personally before offering it to my customers. No worries, this is a superior product I am proud to share with everyone :-)

The thickness is nice, very butter-like. However, I can't put a word to the slight smell that it has. Almost chocolately, almost chemically...I put it on my fiance and he described it as aspirin/chocolate. But the smell is very slight and can be covered with FO or EOs.

New Directions Aromatics Response:
We have formulated this Body Butter Base using as many natural ingredients as possible. Because many of these are natural butters, there will be occasional clumping. A smoother product may be possible with more commercial ingredients, but we believe the positives from using natural ingredients outweigh the alternatives.
