Botanical Name: Mauritia Flexuosa

Extraction Method: Cold Pressed

Description: Buriti is a palm tree found throughout the Amazon basin and central Brazil. This thick log palm tree that can reach up to 30m of height (90 feet) produces a brown, easy to peel scaled fruit. The word "buriti" in Brazil means "tree of life."

Color: Clear deep yellow-orange to reddish color.

Aromatic Description: Buriti Carrier Oil has a strong oily scent.

Common Uses: Unrefined Buriti Carrier Oil is extremely rich in vitamin E (tocopherols) and has one the richest natural source of pro-vitamin A available (carotenoids). The oil restores moisture lacking in sun-exposed skin and because of its color, it possesses a naturally occurring SPF factor. The rich unsaturated fatty acids in Buriti Oil help to rebuild, moisturize and re-hydrate skin cells. It is commonly used to manufacture high-end skin care creams and, is applied directly to cuts and burns, because of its soothing qualities and its ability to promote the formation of scar tissue.

Consistency: Typical and Characteristic of Carrier Oils.

Absorption: Leaves an oily feeling on the skin. May stain sheets and skin if used in massage therapy.

Shelf Life: Users can expect a shelf life of 6 months to 1 year with proper storage conditions (cool, out of direct sunlight). Refrigeration after opening is recommended.

Incredible results! I use Buriti pulp oil to fortify all my lotions, creams and balms formulated for dry, mature and problematic skin conditions such as eczema. Great emollient properties. Try it! Helps strengthen products moisture retention. In the treatment area of the problematic skin condition eczema, I have seen some incredibly significant improvements in skin tissue repair. This is wonderfully powerful oil for which I have seen dramatic skin re-conditioning and repair in short time. As a added benefit it gives all my products a rich, beautiful warming coloration without the use of artificial dyes/colorants. Many of my clients range from infants, small children. I enthusiastically recommend this to all sufferers of eczema, from minor to severe cases. Blends well with nut/kernel oils and enhances the top note (scent) of their natural aromas. Well worth the cost.

I bought this a while back, probably 1 year ago, lol; well that at least has given ample time to really weigh the value of the product! I really like this oil, but it WILL stain, so rub it in VERY well and honestly it only takes a LITTLE of this oil. I use it on my face and it gives an absolutely beautiful glow so to speak. I dab a little on my forehead, chin and cheeks and spread, it doesn't require much at all. It's a great emollient as well, enjoy!

I'm going to use this in all my skin care products...I mixed this with serveral of the new plant based peptides, pumpkin seed oil, and Rose hydrosol. Someone thought I was 35 today...I'm actually almost 55. I shared lots of it with my friends, and I honestly think they look much better, ant the best part is they think so too. It beats carrot seed oil hands down.

Buriti is amazing! I made a facial oil blend using 10% Buriti and in just 6 weeks my rosacea was almost gone. It''s super thick, bright orange in colour, when mixed with other oils gives you a nice tan-like glow. Buriti is a must have.
