The essential oil is obtained by destructive distillation from the branches and heartwood. Color: Dark brown Common Uses: Essential oil of Cade is often used as an ingredient of liniments and ointments for chronic skin diseases of the scaly and moist types, as eczema, psoriasis, and prurigo, and in parasitic disorders and various types of ringworm. Analgesic, antimicrobial, antipruritic, antiseptic, disinfectant, parasiticide, vermifuge. Consistency: Medium Note: Base Strength of Aroma: Medium Blends well with: Cedarwood; Clove Bud; Labdanum; Origanum; Rosemary; Thyme Aromatic Scent: Cade has an intense, tar-like, woody, dry, smoky phenolic odor History: Native to southern France; now common throughout Europe and North Africa. Cautions: Non-toxic. Possible sensitization. Use well diluted.

Very much a pine tar scent - but undertones are woody and believe it or not smell a lot like the smoked meats my father in law creates!
very woody, smoky and interesting!
