Calendula or as mostly known by marigold or pot marigold, is native to the Mediterranean countries. It was used since a very long time ago by ancient civilizations as topical ointments and washes for wounds and ulcers.

Plant Part Used: Flowers.

Aromatic Description: Mild characteristic scent.

Common Uses: Calendula Flowers are reputed to have anti-inflammatory and astringent properties and can be used in infusions, extracts, and ointments to help speed the healing of burns, bruises, cuts, and the minor infections. Calendula Flowers can also be used in soap manufacturing and potpourris.

Holy cow! What great value! I had no idea exactly how much I'd be getting for so little money. Yes, you will need to do some separating of leaves from the buds so be prepared. Even so, I enjoy creating my own oil infusions and using in my soap. Great quality.

I am certainly going to have to figure out exactlty what to do with it all but I am looking forward to having the chance to experiment a bit. Ahhh...Calendula. I use these wonderful flowers frequently, not only for soap making, but also for calendula oil for diapering. You get a tremendous value for your money, and they keep (stored correctly) for a very long time. I love this product!
