Candle Colors

At New Directions we carry both liquid and solid candle dyes to meet the needs of all of our customers. Both types have different characteristics and you will need to consider which is best suited to your personal requirements.

Liquids are more precise since the amounts used can be increased and decreased in smaller amounts and they are better suited for ensuring that wax colors stay consistent from one batch to another.

Being a solid, blocks are easier to work with, they are less likely to stain and there is no worry of spillage.

If you are a first time candle maker, don’t be alarmed if your melted wax takes on a much deeper shade of color than you expected or want. As the wax cools the color will decrease quite a bit as the natural whiteness of the wax takes affect. Colors can be mixed and matched to make various shades, so you’ll find that the possibilities are endless!
