Herbal Oils
Our Herbal Oils are the result of infusing Herbs with Carrier Oils. By placing herbs into a carrier oil and applying gentle heat, the properties of the herb will be “infused” or passed into the vegetable oil, thereby producing a final product that has the properties of both the carrier oil and the herb.
It is also important to note that Herbal Oils can also go rancid because of their base oil being composed of fatty acid chains. For this reason they should be kept in a cool dark place, and if possible, refrigerated.
At New Directions we currently carry three varieties of premium Herbal Oils – Calendula, St. John’s Wort, and Arnica ; infused in extra virgin Olive oil.
