Description: Carrot is an annual or biennial plant with hairy leaves and umbels of white lacy flowers with purple centers.

Color: Pale yellow to amber liquid.

Common Uses: Carrot Seed Essential Oil is fantastic for skin care (revitalizing and toning) and considered one of the best oils for Mature Skin. Carrot Seed Oil also assists in removing toxins and water build up in the skin giving it a fresher more firm appearance. It has a detoxifying effect on the liver and cleans the digestive system and the body as a whole. It is also helpful for arthritis, gout, edema, rheumatism and the accumulation of toxins in muscles and joints. Carrot seed strengthens the mucus membranes in the nose, throat and lungs, thus has a beneficial effect on problems such as bronchitis and influenza.

History: The name is derived from the Greek 'Carotos' and had great medicinal value in ancient times, especially for its carminative properties.

Cautions: Non-toxic, non-irritant and non-sensitizing. Avoid use during pregnancy.

This stuff works great for so many skin applications... I'm back to order another bottle. Great in lip balm. I am not a huge fan of the smell, but it is mild and can be easily covered with other nicer smelling eos like chamomile or lavender.

This EO smells very Earthy to me, but it has a sort of nauseating undertone, that I personally find quite unpleasant. That said, I got it for the reputed therapeutic application for wrinkles. It's hard for me to say how well it works for that, because I absolutely have to blend this with other EOs to make the smell tolerable to me. But because the price is so good, and the therapeutic applications are so renowned, I'm giving it 4 stars.

This oil smells strongly of cooked carrots to me. It kind of grows on you though. As far as working for edema. My mother has problems with swelling in feet and ankles. She put some on her legs and feet mixed with a carrier oil, and by morning the swelling was completely gone. I'm convinced. My skin looks and feels nice with it so far. Will continue to see what happens.

Steam-distilled carrot seed oil has a fresh pine-nut aroma. It is very relaxing to breathing passages, much as are the Boswellia oils, with which it should blend well.

I am new to using oils and I just tried this oil today. I put 1 drop in my palm with some grapeseed oil for my face(I have combination skin) and it was too strong. My mistake, it definitely needs dilution. I love the smell. It's great!

I have been very pleased with this oil. I bought it to try in an elixer blended with other EO's and a carrier. I have used it for about 2 months, and was told last week that I have the skin of a baby's. I'd say it's working! As far as the smell goes, it's earthy but pleasant to me.

I too am a hobbyist and purchased this oil to incorporate into a light facial moisturizing cream. Along with the other ingredients used, I have been very impressed with the quality of the oil as well as the results I've seen so far! As previously noted, the oil is very strong and should be diluted (as with any essential oil). Patchouli and Rosewood essential oils, used minimally, masked the scent of the Carrot Seed oil very nicely...and also have their own healthy benefits in skin care. I will be back to purchase more essential oils from NDA having been very pleased with the quality of the oil, the packaging, the fast shipping and excellent customer service!

I DON'T PARTICULARLY LIKE THE SCENT OF THIS OIL FOR MY FACE, HOWEVER, IT MASKS WELL WITH A DROP OR TWO OF GRAPEFRUIT OIL. MAKE SURE TO DILUTE WELL! A LITTLE HARSH ON SENSITIVE SKIN, AND I ONLY USED IT AT 1%, BUT IT DEFINITELY CLEANSES!!

I bought this oil based on the reviews and for it's known anti-wrinkle therapies. But the smell is so stinky to me I'm not sure I could put it anywhere near my face. Maybe it will be better diluted. I will have to do some trials.

I love this oil! Highly recommended for anti-wrinkle products! Can also be used for anorexia, arthritis, burns, dermatitis, detoxifying, eczema, glandular problems, liver congestion, mature complexion, PMT relief, psoriasis, rashes, revitalising, scars, toner, wrinkles. (Also known as Bird's Nest, Queen Anne's Lace, Wild Carrot.) It also has a really nice scent. A must have ingredient in any mature skin formula. This one is of the best quality I've seen.
