Description:
Cassia Cinnamon Bark is an evergreen tree native to southern China and Vietnam. Also known as Chinese Cinnamon, it is used primarily for its aromatic bark, which is used as a culinary spice. The Cassia tree grows to 10-15 m tall, with grayish bark, and hard elongated leaves 10-15 cm long, that have a decidedly reddish color when young. Plant Part Used: Bark Color: Reddish, brown, grounded barks Scent: Strong, aromatic, sweet, spicy Common Uses: Cassia Cinnamon Bark is said to have antiseptic properties and makes a for great exfoliant when added to soaps. It can also be used in bath fizzies and Potpourris for its relaxing scent.
As with all manufacturing processes, New Directions Aromatics Recommends that small, lab scale production be conducted prior to any commercial runs.

Cassia Cinnamon Bark makes an excellent exfoliant additive for soaps. The scent is very nice - exactly what you would expect from raw cinnamon bark. If you're going to use this in a bar soap for the body, I'd recommend grinding it down a bit further, as it's a bit course. Or, leave it alone and use in soap intended only for use on the hands and feet.

I bought this to add to bubble bath. You get exactly what is described. The consistency would be a really good exfoliant in soap, as described.
