Botanical Name: Prunus Avium

Extraction Method: Cold Pressed

Description: Cherry Kernel Carrier Oil contains natural antioxidants, alpha, delta and gamma tocopherols plus vitamins A & E. It also contains a polyunsaturated fatty acid called eleostearic, a conjugated linolenic acid that prevents UV absorption by forming a barrier on the surface of the skin or hair.

Color: Pale yellow to golden yellow liquid.

Aromatic Description: Cherry Kernel Carrier Oil has very little scent characteristic of most carrier oils.

Common Uses: Cherry Kernel Carrier Oil is a stable, emollient oil great for skin care products and soap making. It can be used as a light, moisturizing oil for lip balms, body butters, salt and sugar scrubs, bath or massage oils as well as soaps and shampoos. It is used in aromatherapy and by massage therapists.

Consistency: Typical and Characteristic of Carrier Oils.

Absorption: Absorbs into skin at average speed, slight oil feeling left on skin.

Shelf Life: Users can expect a shelf life of 6 months to 1 year with proper storage conditions (cool, out of direct sunlight). Refrigeration after opening is recommended.

This is a really nice oil. It leaves the skin feeling silky and moisturized without feeling greasy. Almost likes it becomes one with your skin. Incredible staying power. My skin feels nice all day. A weightless satiny feel. I love that it is good for even oily skin and has UV protection. No noticable smell.

I've used this for about a week now and my dermatologist induced dry skin looks more relaxed and less stressed than it has looked in over a year. I don't have a lot of wrinkles, but my skin looks parched and make up doesn't cover it up well. Also, I have acne prone skin and this doesn't seem to clog any additional pores and I feel so thankful of its very light constistency. After about five minutes the oil is absorbed (maybe three minutes) so my face has a matte finish and doesn't look shiny or greasy. I love to use this oil on my dry hands. It's a deeply penetrating oil that has no fragrance. This is a wonderful oil and I look forward to apply to my skin every day because it makes it feel soft and relaxed.

I love Cherry Kernel oil, and to think I didn't even know it existed. This oil does not have any scent so could be applied on its on, but I added neroli EO and massage it on my face after showers/baths. It really is a beautiful oil does wonders on acne/problematic skin. Seems to even out the texture of the skin and really reduces the signs of scarring from adult acne. It does have a heavier feel so I tend to use it before bed. Thanks New Directions for providing so many natural ingredients for such a great price and promt delivery!

I am so glad that NDA offers Cherry Kernel oil! I have searched for this oil among many other Canadian suppliers and none seem to carry it in their inventory. I love this oil’s sun protecting qualities for the skin, although it should not be confused with a sunscreen, but every little bit helps! Its texture is like Sweet Almond oil which nourishes while not clogging pores. I love it.

cherry kernel oil is great emollient ! I glad now you carry cherry kernel oil because i was looking for it and I can't find it canada. I use cherry kernel oil in my skin care product, lip balm, soap, washable cleansing oil. cherry kernel oil is good for acnic skin and it also control sebum production. Amazing oil ! I love it !!
