I use this in my pain rub and it works great. It's thick and red, but has kind of a mild scent that just disappears into other eos. The only thing I would warn against is using it on broken or rashy skin. I also use just a drop in my kittys flea repellent.

I tought about smelling the bottle and it was hot ! This is deep red both in smell and appearance ; it does not smell particularly stigny as it's nutty and light, this part of the oil gives an interesting support to a more active smell. The other part is more sirupy (very thick) actives like capsaicin and capsaicinoids which is exactly what one would love of such an oil. It is unbeatable in topical muscle ache application, it goes deep and numbs pain as it enhances circulation. This is a truely wonderful quality product again from mexico ! Very high quality, very spicy ! Irritant to mucous membranes, wash hands after massaging with this oil, and do not massage for too long as hands will become oversaturated ; use very diluted !

I bought this oil because I wanted something different for a new fragrance I was working on. All I can say is I am so very sorry I did not order the 3.3 oz bottle. This oil added just the right spice I was looking for. The oil was very tricky to work with because it is more like a paste, but I just removed the orifice reducer and set the bottle in warm water for a few minutes. Before I did that it was a little tough to get the oil out of the bottle. I did not have any trouble mixing this oil with my other oils , it mixed well with the other oils and did not separate from the other oils. I am so happy I found this I will order a 3.3 oz bottle next time

Although the scent is wonderful, sinus clearing and invigorating, chilly seed oil is difficult to mix in with other base/carrier oils and waxes. It is best used in light oils for massage. It was a bit disappointing when I tried to use it in a balm, only to watch it separate and drift to the bottom. I am however, exited about experimenting with it in the future.

The first thing to know about this oil is that it probably has no aromatherapeutic purpose. On its own, this oil smells like a freshly chopped red bell pepper, with all the piquant, fruity backnotes that go with it. If you inhale a whiff straight from the bottle, it will likely clear any sinus or chest congestion you had before taking that whiff. Blended with a carrier oil and/or other essential oils and applied topically, however, capsicum really shines. Personally I like to use this rather viscous oil combined with cinnamon, clove, black pepper and ginger essential oils, blended with an easily absorbed carrier oil. I use this blend as a spray or rub to treat muscular, joint and nerve pain. This is also a great blend during flu season, as it breaks up sinus and chest congestion (when applied to the chest and allowed to "breathe" a bit), and it alleviates the muscle soreness that usually accompanies a bout of influenza. NOTES: a) This is a viscous oil, so if you use it in combination with other oils in a bottle, give the bottle a thorough shake before use, b) ALWAYS WASH HANDS IMMEDIATELY AFTER USE, AND AVOID CONTACT WITH EYES AND MUCOUS MEMBRANES, c) This is a brightly colored essential oil that will stain clothing or sheets. A very good buy. I don't like going without this!
