Description: Cocoa is the dried and fully fermented fatty seed of the cacao tree. Our Cocoa Absolute is solvent extracted from top quality standardized cocoa bean powder.
Color: Dark Brown Liquid
Common Uses: Cocoa is known to contain valuable anti-oxidants and is reported to assist with sluggish circulation as well as promoting softer, more youthful skin. Anti-oxidants aid in protecting the cells, collagen and elastin from damage caused by free radicals found in our environment. Cocoa has also been used throughout history as an aphrodisiac. This may be due to the positive effects of flavonols - active constituents naturally found in cacao. Cocoa Absolute is more suited to water-based applications as it is not oil soluble which makes it perfect for addition to creams, lotions, facial masks and body treatments etc, which have a water component.

Aromatic Description: Delicious, rich & heady chocolate liquor aroma * *It is important to note that all absolutes are extremely concentrated by nature. They should not be evaluated in this state unless you are accustomed to the undiluted fragrance. For those trying Absolutes for the first time, we strongly recommend they be evaluated in dilution. Otherwise, the complexity of the fragrance - particularly the rare and exotic notes - become lost.
History: The cacao plant was first given its botanical name by Swedish natural scientist Carolus Linnaeus in his original classification of the plant kingdom, who called it Theobroma ("food of the gods") cacao. The cacao tree is native to the Americas and was considered an important commodity in Pre-Columbian Mesoamerica. Spanish chroniclers of the conquest of Mexico by Hernán Cortés relate that when Montezuma II, emperor of the Aztecs, dined he took no other beverage than chocolate.
Cautions: No known toxicity. Use well diluted. High doses may trigger skin reactions in sensitive individuals.

I receivedmy absolute this morning and got immediately crazy about it ! I am sure now that this is the best tool for a true chocolate soap. Not even one drop and my wrist was smelling chocolate... like hell ! Wonderful product.

For a wonderful summer lotion blend, this scent is a must. I used it with Vanilla and then added a touch of Coconut fragance and it is very popular. I will be trying it with the Vanilla and Orange next for those who don't wish to use fragrances.

Cocoa e.o. is a unique blending oil. Once I received it, I was so excited that I hardly knew where to start blending. The essence is richer than the finest chocolate and any real woman would want to eat it. Therapeutic properties aside, cocoa provides a fabulous, unexpected nuance to any blend. I highly recommend its addition to your collection.
