Cocoa Butter (also known as cacao butter) is the natural cream colored vegetable fat extracted from cocoa beans during the process of separating the powder and liquor from the bean. Our Cocoa Butter has been slight deodorized to reduce the chocolate smell but its properties remain the same.

Common Uses: Cocoa Butter has been used to heal and moisturize skin that has been exposed to the elements. It also helps reduce the formation of stretch marks during pregnancy by keeping the skin supple. It makes a wonderful ingredient in lotion bars, lip balms, body butters and soaps. Cocoa Butter is one of the most stable fats known and it contains natural antioxidants that prevent rancidity. This butter is very hard in consistency.

Recommended Usage:
• Lotions & Creams: 5 - 20 %
• Balms: 5 – 100 %
• Bar Soaps: 5 - 20 %
• Hair Conditioners: 1 – 5 %

When adding butters to creams and lotions, it might be necessary to gently warm them until the texture can be incorporated into the final product. Using a hand blender, create a vortex with your cream or lotion and drizzle your melted butter to fully incorporate. For addition in soaps, the general rule of thumb is 1 tablespoon per pound. As with most raw materials, results may vary, so we strongly recommend small, lab scale batches prior to any commercial manufacturing.

Shelf Life: This butter should be stored in a cool dark place and has a shelf-life of approximately 2 - 5 years when stored properly.

Wonderful product for making body creams. I like to use it as an overnight skin makeover or as a solid massage bar for those cold winter nights in front of the fire. You will wake up with skin as soft and elasticized as a 12 year old!

I find this one more beneficial to use, where I can use different EO and FO blends for it. When I told the lady from NDA that I should have ordered the refined one instead of the natural, she shipped it out so fast for me.(not to mention that there service is a 5 star to begin with)

Very slight cocoa smell - nothing that can't be scented over. Used in both a scented and unscented body butter with excellent results. Containers come full and I can't resist taking a tiny piece out to melt on my skin. Won't buy this anywhere but NDA!
