I found this gem at a discount book sale and I am so glad I bought it! It is not only filled with Essential Oil info, it categorizes them in a very understandable manner. If you are just beginning to learn about EO,this is definitely the book to get first. As the other post'er said, it is the other "bible"...

This is a must-have 1st book for someone new to aromatherapy! There is so much good information packed into this tiny book. The directory of oils is very informative and easy to use. I like that the author categorized the oils into sections based on their healing properties. It also provides simple recipes & suggestions for how to use each oil. I am pretty new to essential oils myself, but this book is so thorough, I can see it being useful to experts as well. Great for learning about each oil as well as just having around for a quick reference guide.

This is a great book, the size is small enough to carry it with you but also has a lot of good information. When ever I'm using my oils, I keep this with me for quick & in depth reference, whom ever designed this book should design more like it. I was very happy with my purchase, if I purchased this one sooner I would not have needed all the books I have now, a lot of books advertise " This book should be one of your first books - a must have!" I'm being totally honest This truly is The One! This book isn't just for beginners, the way it's catagorized and the amount of information makes it very useful for all of us (oil people). This is well worth the $15.00, with the design of this book, it has as much or more information than many of the $30.00 books! It should be a 7 out of the 5 point rating.

I 'spose since I was the one to walk into N.D. with this gem of a book tucked into my purse and I ranted on and on about it I should write a testimonial or something about it LOL The girls in the front office all had a look at the book and loved it and put it on their wish list. It took some time but I'm super excited that everyone else can now have access to what I jokingly call my 'other bible'. I've already worn the word OIL from the front cover *LAFFS* Now as any aromatherapist knows the Tisserand Institute in London England is like the "Holy Grail" of aromatherapy. The author of this book, Jennie Harding, worked as the Senior Essential Oil Tutor for fifteen year at the Tisserand Institute. If anyone knows about oils, she is the one who would. If you want clear and concise information about tons and tons of recipes The Essential Oil Handbook is the one you want. I've tried lots of her recipes and have found a fav for a bath, it uses Cistus - Labdanum / S.African Rose Geranium. Check It Out!!! There are even pictures of the various massage techniques. AAHHHH!!! So Relaxing. If you want to learn something ... or anything for that matter about oils... blends ... anything .... learn from the best. Jennie Harding's book is the ONLY way to go. I can already hear phones ringing with the inevitible question ... " Hey, want to try out this new recipe I'm working on .....?"
