Fir Balsam Essential Oil

Botanical Name: Abies balsamea Plant Part: Needles Extraction Method: Steam Distillation Origin: Canada Description: Balsam fir Needles are about 3/4 to 1-1/4 inches long with two white stripes running down the underside of each needle. Color: Colourless to pale yellow Common Uses: Fir Balsam essential oil is often used to combat the symptoms of colds - including sore muscles and chest congestion. Consistency: Light Note: Middle Strength of Aroma: Strong Aromatic Scent: Fir balsam has a crisp, clean Christmas tree aroma that is uplifting, warming and calming. History: Reported to be an anodyne, antiseptic, diaphoretic, diuretic, masticatory, and vulnerary, fir balsam is a folk remedy for bronchitis, burns, cancer, catarrh, cold, consumption, cough, dysentery, earache, gleet, gonorrhea, heart ailments, leucorrhea, paralysis, rheumatism, scurvy, sores, ulcers, urogenital ailments, warts, and wounds. Cautions: Fir balsam is reported to produce dermatitis when applied as perfume in concentrated form. Use well diluted.

Another one of my favorite oils. Makes me think of a walk in the forest. Great in a difuser as natural air freshener and also in melt-and-pour or hot process soaps.

Excellent price for quality oil. Very useful in chest rub for colds. I love its warming Christmas tree scent bringing back loads of childhood memories. :)
