Foaming Bath Butter - Paraben Free

New and Improved!
Now Paraben-Free and Propylene Glycol Free. With the demand for skin care products to be as natural and as environmentally friendly as possible, Stephenson has developed a new formulation for its Foaming Bath Butter. This product still maintains high performance and stability and does not compromise on quality or price.

Foaming Bather Butter is an incredibly unique product brought to you exclusively by Stephenson. This is the latest technology in cream soap. It offers both versatility and true luxury. It cleanses while moisturizing, and has a very mild pH of 5.5 - perfect for facial applications.

As a base it provides an entire world of possibilities: whipped into a parfait, colored and layered, as a shaving butter, as a sugar or salt scrub! The list is endless. Easily add essential oils, fragrant oils, other natural butters, other cream and lotion bases…with this product you are limited only by your imagination!

Try playing with the following:

• Carrier Oils - adding up to 2oz (60ml) of a carrier oils (try any of them - Grape Seed, Evening Primrose, Sweet Almond, Avocado or Sea Buckthorn if you're looking for a really exotic product!) per pound of base has made the foaming bath butter more moisturizing, particularly on products being applied to the face.

• Sugar / Salt - Sugar or salt can be added until the product becomes supersaturated. Once the salt or sugar stops melting, it will remain in crystal form and act as a wonderful exfoliater.

• Fragrance - The Foaming Bath Butter is incredibly robust, and will accept a fragrance load of up to 5% essential oil or fragrant oil. Consumer applications indicate a load of 2 to 3% is preferred.

• Other Butters and Bases - Try adding Shea, Mango or Cocoa Butter, or try adding some of our exotic Amazonian Butters! The Foaming Bath Butter will also accept small amounts of other creams, lotions, and moisturizers!

Experimenting is Half the Fun! Using it and selling it is the other half!

Some suggested uses are:

• Sugar Scrubs
• Salt Scrubs
• Body Meringues
• Body Parfaits
• Exfoliating Scrubs

Please note: the product will double in volume when whipped using a blender or cake mixer. However, it can collapse if whipped to more than double its original volume.

Basic Parfait Sample Recipe:

• 2 Pounds Foaming Bath Butter
• 4 Oz of Sweet Almond Oil (2 oz per pound of Foaming Bath Butter)
• Color to suit
• Fragrance or Essential Oil to suit

Cut 2 Pounds of the Foaming Bath Butter and place in a mixing bowl. Using a cake mixer, slowly break down the product into a soft, consistent form. Add 4 oz of the Sweet Almond for extra moisturizing properties and start mixing at a higher speed until the product doubles in volume. Simply add color and fragrance to suit, and voila! You have created an exotic bath parfait with endless possibilities. Place in your open container of choice and allow 24 hours for the product to set. If you’re feeling really adventurous, try layering different colors and selling as a Foaming Body Parfait!

Back again! Great product, and I'll be ordering more soon. To answer the question about how long it should be whipped for---I phoned NDA directly and they said that it should be whipped anywhere between 5-15 minutes depending on how warm your carrier oil was. Don't heat the base itself, but warm your oil slightly and pour it over no less than 2lbs of butter (which will soften the base) and then blend.

I love this stuff! I add the sweet almond oil as described but also a 1/4 cup local, dark honey per 2 lbs of butter. That seems to work well in keeping it from being too drying. The honey gives it a nice color and a creamy consistency. Sometimes I will add apricot powder and some cinnamon and nutmeg for a nice exfoliating scrub. I use this on my face 2 or 3 times a week and do not find it drying. Once you get the hang of mixing this stuff you can do so much with it. I have not been able to get it to double, but maybe I'm too afraid of it collapsing. Any one with ideas of how long to beat it please comment.

I recently ordered 5 lbs of the Foaming Bath Butter to try and have been very pleased with the product. It took a bit of experimenting to get the results that I was looking for but I know I will be back for more of this product! I've created body parfaits and creamy sugar scrubs with this and am so happy with them. The first batch was made using Apricot Kernel Oil and I found that a bit too drying. My second batch was made using EVOO and Coconut Cream and, WOW! Very creamy and moisturizing while remaining foamy and producing a lot of bubbles! My next batch will be made incorporating Plum Kernel Oil...and I cannot wait to try that! I was a hobbyist...now I am an addict!

I ordered 10 lbs. of this to make gifts for Christmas last December. The gifts were well received, but once the recipients started using it they were wowed! They are now coming back to ask to buy more, and I'm about to run out. My husband also loves it as shaving soap, and a friend bathes her 86 year old mother with thin, sensitive skin with it. I add 2 oz. oil/pound to the base, and it is a lathery, creamy delight. One quibble I have is that I haven't found that it actually doubles in volume, maybe a little less. How long should it be whipped to double?

Not my favorite product. I'm happy that NDA is finding paraben-free products to offer -- but this item could definitely be improved. I find that it's still quite drying to the skin (even with the addition of sweet almond oil at the recommended ratio) compared to the goat's milk soap melt-n-pour soap. And I would never DREAM of applying this to my (or anyone else's) face. Am selling off my remaining product as a scrubby hand-degreaser (like an all-natural 'Fast Orange'-style shop soap) -- but will not be purchasing this item again.

I love this product. I've bought it before. It is so smooth and leaves your hands soft. Takes color and fragrance well and looks beautiful in jars. I've sold a lot of this and hope to sell a lot more. Highly recommend.

I am totally addicted to this product! This is my first purchase and will most definitely not be the last! I can't wait to see what I can do with it. It feels amazing and lathers so much! This will be a staple in my product arsenal! Thanks ND- you've done it again! Bravo!

Wow, is this stuff ever cool! Just a word of caution, though... I find that fragrance takes a day to "develop" once it's been whipped in, so if it doesn't smell very strong as first, let it sit for a day, smell it again, then proceed accordingly. Otherwise, I'm starting to think it's impossible to screw anything up while using this stuff. Extremely versatile. The 5lb. bucket isn't enough!

This is my second purchase of this amazing bath butter. It blends so well and such a wonderful product. I love making shaving butter with and it has become my number one seller both the bath butter and the shaving butter. I just can't say enough about this product. Well done.

I love this product! I add 2 oz of oils per pound of Foaming Bath Butter, it's not drying and it's still foamy. I add sugar and ground walnut husk to obtain a creamy foaming scrub!

Wow...This soap makes my skin so soft and delicate! It's a fantastic product for the dry winter skin. It'd be great if NewDirections could include some usage directions on the label. That would be so much better.

I love this stuff. I like to make smaller batches than you suggest. I actually make each 4oz jar individually after it is ordered. I place 2.5oz of bath butter in a tall, slender tumbler. Use one that your beaters can touch the bottom in and just barely larger around than the beaters. Melt the butter in the microwave for 10-15 seconds only. Add 1/2tsp whatever oil or melted butter you want to add and 1/2tsp. fragrance. One drop of color and beat for 1minute. Pour into a 4oz clear PET jar and allow it to set up before putting on the lid. This works great and helps to keep from wasting product . Thanks for offering this wonderful product.

Super stuff. Has the look and feel of heavy whipped cream, and feels wonderful on the skin. Makes one of the best facial scrubs I have ever used, and I have sensitive skin! Carries scent very well, and looks professional in clear containers. Not a product you would want to hide! Especially if you add exfoliators, such as ground apricot kernels, or even jojoba spheres. This product sells it's self, so if you are in business, allow your customers to try it out!
