| What can I make myself to get a head start on cracked hands? On hand I have shea butter, CO, Cocoa butter, sweet almond oil, lard, OO and palm oil. My hands are so rough and they are starting to crack already..... |

Shea Butter Soother
First ~ make the two blends up separately (the shea soother base and the essential oils) and allow them to "marry" for at least 3 days before mixing together:
This recipe is for a 16 oz- Shea Soother Blend.
Base of:
6 oz- Calendula Infused in Sunflower Oil
4 oz - Jojoba Oil
4 oz - Evening Primrose Oil
1 oz - Rosehip Seed Oil
To this base add:
Essential Oils of ~
20 ml - Geranium Bourbon
10 ml - Chamomile Roman Organic
5 ml - Celery Seed
5 ml - Carrot Seed
2 drp - Vitamin E
Use your Kitchen Aid it makes quite a difference in time and texture of the cream.
When you're ready to make the cream place:
1 lb - Shea butter
4 oz - Babassu
1/3 cup of Shea Soother Blend (here you have to see if you need to add a bit more .. use your judgment)
Crank up the Kitchen Aid to Whip and let it go for at least 20 minutes.
Not adding water makes this cream really excellent because you don't need extra preservatives.
This batch made: 17 - 4 oz jars
The above blend was created to help the skin heal. To assist in adding tone and elasticity to the skin. It helps to decrease the puffiness and redness and strengthen the tissue. Works on cracked and dry skin well.
There are a few more ideas here, where I originally posted this recipe: http://www.newdirectionsaromatics.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=20899&highlight=butter+soother#20899 _________________ Too blessed to be stressed! |

This looks wonderful!!! I just ordered little bottles of the EO's I need to make this. (will be a tad pricey by the time it's done...) Do you still make it? Do you like it better than just a whipped shea? I think this would make a wonderful Christmas gift for my Mom, my Aunt, hmmm, the list gets longer and we don't even usually exchange gifts, they are in for a surprise. _________________ Debra |

Looks like a good recipe. This might work if you slather it on, then put on some cotton gloves. _________________ Irena

Yes, I still make this ... it's my best selling butter.
Irena: if you are doing the glove treatment ... you don't need to "slather" this stuff on ... just spread thinly. A little goes a long way. _________________ Too blessed to be stressed! |

I need to slather it on; the gloves absorb some of it. _________________ Irena
