Description: Golden Seal Root is a small perennial herb native to North America and has been in use for centuries. The name comes from the golden color on the root of the plant. Native Americans have long used Golden root plant to treat skin disease and inflammation.
Common Uses:Golden Seal Root extract is high in A, C and E, as well as B complex vitamins and contains anti-oxidant properties. It can be used in preparing salves or balms to treat inflammation. The active ingredient in this extract is a group of alkaloids which contain antiseptic and astringent properties; and therefore can be used in many topical applications.
