Description: Also known as Canadian Spruce or white Spruce, Blue Hemlock is a coniferous tree native to North America. This is a large evergreen tree that grows up to 50 meters tall with stiff, sharp spirally arranged twigs.
Color: Dark Greenish Brown resin
Common Uses: Blue Hemlock can be used in formulations for perfumery, cosmetics and in insect repellents. It is considered great in preparations for coughs, colds, asthma and other respiratory ailments. Due its anti-inflammatory properties, Blue Hemlock can be used to relieve aches and pains and is also credited with being a spiritual oil – stabilizing while opening.

Aromatic Description: Blue Hemlock has a fresh fruity balsamic notes.
** It is important to note that all absolutes are extremely concentrated by nature. They should not be evaluated in this state unless you are accustomed to the undiluted fragrance. For those trying Absolutes for the first time, we strongly recommend they be evaluated in dilution. Otherwise, the complexity of the fragrance - particularly the rare and exotic notes - become lost.
History: Blue Hemlock oil has long been used by Native Americans to make a poultice for wounds and sores. The twigs were also used in steam baths to induce sweating for relief of rheumatism, colds and coughs.
Cautions: This absolute should be avoided during pregnancy. At low doses it appears to be non-toxic, non-irritating, and non-sensitizing.
