Description: Key Lime is an evergreen, spiny shrub or small tree of 6 meters in height. The plant has single or multiple stems and irregular branches, covered with smooth brown or gray bark.

Color: Pale yellow to yellowish green liquid.

Common Uses: Key Lime Essential Oil is a refreshing and uplifting oil and, can be used to ease emotional lethargy, listlessness and relieve mental exhaustion. It can also be used to support the body’s immune system through colds and flu. Key Lime Oil can be used in manufacturing of toiletries, skincare products and in perfumery.

Aromatic Scent: Key Lime Essential Oil has a strong citrusy scent that is sharp and slightly spicy.

History: Originally from Asia, Limes are now cultivated in mostly warm countries, especially Italy, the West Indies and the Americas. Limes were introduced into Europe by the Moors and from there to the Americas. Ships transporting Limes were called 'lime juicers' and ship crews depended on lime to prevent scurvy, because of the high vitamin C content found in limes and lime juice.

Cautions: Key Lime Essential Oil can be photo-toxic to sensitive individuals. Use well diluted. Avoid use during pregnancy.

I really don't like the scent of this by itself. It has too much of a citrus smell but i do like it mixed with woodsy scents such as cedarwood. The wood scent give it a more grounded, strudy scent if that makes sense. One word of caution, this oil does cause irritation. It might bother me more than others because i have a slight allergy to citrus. I can add more than a drop really or it causes my skin to burn.

This EO smells like a margarita. I used it in a cp soap all alone, and it held very well. (Although, I recommend boxing them after they cure). It also blends well with other EOs for a sophisticated top note.

I bought this based on the other reviews I saw here. I'm SO glad I did! It is such a HAPPY scent. My kids love it- say it smells like candy. My husband wonders if it would be good to use in a lime scented custard (I don't see why not. I put lemon oil in my cakes all the time). This oil has such an immediate cheering up effect on me. I'll be using it in the car often. It wakes me up without giving me headaches like some of the pines and eucalyptus ones do. Great oil!

Very sharp smelling, just like the fruit! This is a great scent for uplifting blends and is a little less heavy than traditional lime. The slight difference is worth having both.
