This is not a typical lavender (angustifolia, dentate, etc.). It is a completely different phenotype called Lavender Marie (look at the data sheet). The smell is special, radiant and fruity, with not noticeable camphor undertones, it is definitely a luxurious aroma. I checked the data sheet and the GC plot (on top of this webpage) and indeed, the essential oil contains the components that one expects to find in a typical lavender essential oil. This one, however, is a more fragrant variety. It should display the normal healing properties of a lavender (Bulgarian or French lavander e. e.) but since it is high in esters, I would use it for a relaxing bath,in the diffuser or as a mood perfume rather than for burns or joint pain.

Wonderful product. Excellent price. As many have mentioned, it works amazingly well in healing burns. It has saved me a lot of pain from burns in the kitchen. I recommend this to everyone as a must have in any home. This product is specially good for young children because they are always so scared to put anything on after an injury. It smells good, it doesn't hurt or sting, and it heals the skin so fast.

I actually found this lavender to smell a bit more musky than the Barreme---not at all what I was expecting given the prior reviews.

Very nice and sweet. All lavenders seem to work about the same so I give this a definite thumbs up if you prefer less astringent smelling lavender. I love the fact that it such a useful, beautiful smelling little herb!!!

I've always loved Lavender to create a relaxing atmosphere. I thought it had to be bitter to be lavender. This one is actually sweeter than what I'm used to, and I really like it! It compliments so many of my blends, and I've loved using the suggested blends on the site. I'm using it in cleaning products, the shampoo, conditioner, and the bath salts.
