Lemon Essential Oil

lemon.jpgBotanical Name: Citrus limonum
Plant Part: Peel of the fruit
Extraction Method: Cold Pressed
Origin: Italy
Description: Lemon was originally a small thorny evergreen tree native to India. It is now common in Southern Europe, Florida and California.
Color: A light yellow
Common Uses: Lemon has been historically recognized as a cleanser. It is recognized as being antiseptic, and as having refreshing and cooling properties. Research has also shown lemon essential oil to enhance the ability to concentrate.
Consistency: Light
Note: Top
Strength of Aroma: The aroma is similar to fresh lemon rinds except richer and more concentrated.
Aromatic Scent: Lemon is highly prized for its high anti-bacterial properties. On skin and hair it can be used for its cleansing effect, as well as for treating cuts and boils.
History: The fruit was well known in Europe by the middle ages, and Greeks and Romans were advocates of its therapeutic properties. Lemon essential oil reached the height of its fame when the British began using the citrus fruit to counteract the effects of scurvy.
Cautions: Non-toxic, but may cause skin irritation in some. Lemon is also phototoxic and should be avoided prior to exposure to direct sunlight.

This is the best lemon I have ever used, fabulous quality and at a price that amazes me. I used to pay this much for the 1/2 oz size. I put a few drops in my laundry......I have the cleanest clothes in my family . I soak my fish or chicken in water with 2 drops of lemon before I prepare it... I add a few drops of lemon to a cup of water in my spray bottle and the whole house smells so clean.... Lemon is a must have.

I have used this in a bath salt and while when it is first applied it smells heavenly it doesn't appear to have a very long shelf life at least not in the bath salts. I have tried it in a couple of other products where it worked very well and the scent stayed true for a much longer time.I would recommend this product just not for that particular medium.

This lemon works perfectly to diffuse any unwanted odors, like that musty room smell that occurs in cold climates when the house is all shut up for winter. Plus the uplifting nature of lemon makes it perfect as a pick-me-up in the winter months!

I love this oil and would not be without an ample supply! I use it everywhere from dishwater (makes my sink, countertops, fixtures SHINE) to removing tree sap from my children's hands (takes it right off). It has a clear, refreshing, uplifting scent - what a wonderfully versatile oil!

There's definitely no mistaking the scent of this potent essential oil. The scent is clean, it's fresh, and it reminds me of a sring day in the sunshine! A basket of fresh lemons also comes to mind when I smell this particular oil. I use it in my toner with witch hazel for my oily skin and it does wonders in removing that extra oil on my face. I'm definitely a return customer for this essential oil!

There is no mistaking this one as it smells exactly the same as a lemon from a tree. There are tons of uses but one of my favorites is in all kinds of cleaning because it leaves such a cheerful crisp scent behind.

This scent is (obviously) in the class of citruses such as bergamot and mandarin. It is closer to mandarin, more lemon like, and even sweet if you ask me. This is the stereotypical lemon EO if there ever was one. The price is reasonable, especially for Canadian dollars.

What a beautiful aroma and blends well without being overpowering at all. It is just so light and I can't keep enough of it around because I use it in household sprays, lotions, the list goes on and on...... Thanks again NDA - you deliver so well!!!

This is a great scent, and works great. Very fresh lemony scent, without being too sharp or bitter at all. A great buy.

Lovely lemon! So cheering and uplifting, also very useful in cleansing products. One of the brightest top notes in the colorful wheel of aromatherapy. A sure thing and must have for any aromatherapist.
