Description: This is an annual plant that flowers from July to October. The flowers are gold, orange to red-brown in color with a sweet smelling fragrance.

Common Uses: Marigold Absolute is widely used in the perfumery industry.
It can be used to form the base for other floral perfumes, like hyacinth, lilac and tuberose to name a few. Marigold is said to have soothing benefits and is mostly used by large cosmetic and skin care manufacturers to formulate exclusive and exotic products.
Consistency: Thick, Viscous Resin. Marigold absolute should be heated to come out of its solid state. However it does not liquefy but becomes semi solid and has a toffee-like consistency.

Aromatic Description: Marigold Absolute has a powerful, fruity, sweet scent with green undernotes.* *It is important to note that all absolutes are extremely concentrated by nature. They should not be evaluated in this state unless you are accustomed to the undiluted fragrance. For those trying Absolutes for the first time, we strongly recommend they be evaluated in dilution. Otherwise, the complexity of the fragrance - particularly the rare and exotic notes - become lost.
History: This variety of Marigold is grown worldwide. It is considered by persons of the pagan belief to be a cleanser and a fragrance of worship. Often used in rituals and worn by those of higher class (near god-like status). It also can be worn by some as a sign of mourning.
Cautions: Can be phototoxic. Use well diluted. High doses may trigger skin reactions in sensitive individuals.
