Stephenson Shea Soap Base is free of all surfactants and propylene glycol. It contains 5% Shea Butter, and is smooth, creamy, and rich with natural emollient properties.
Our Melt & Pour Glycerin Soap base is ALL VEGETABLE OIL and contains no alcohol or harmful products to dry your skin! Glycerin, a natural emollient, draws moisture out of the air to benefit skin health. It cleanses without stripping or upsetting the delicate natural pH balance necessary for soft, healthy skin. And, since we don't use animal oils, our soap rinses clean and leaves no soapy film behind. All our soap bases are produced from the highest quality double distilled and deodorized clear coconut oil, forming luxurious lather and sparkling clarity.
Please note that the Shea Butter Soap may not lather as well as other soap bases. This is due to a natural chemical process and it does not undermine the effectiveness of the product.
Usage: A two pound brick can make between 10 - 20 soaps, depending on the size of the soap youre trying to make.

Caution: When making soaps it is good to remember that the Melt & Pour Bases contain water as part of the formula. So if they are left exposed to the atmosphere, the water will evaporate and the bar of soap will shrink. We would recommend fully wrapping the ENTIRE soap bar as soon as it is poured and cooled--this should minimize/eliminate any shrinkage.

This is a great soap base! I give it 4 stars because I have a hard time getting it to lather, even when I don't add moisturizing oils to it. It does hold scents well and is very moisturizing so I continue to use it and I'm overall very pleased. Thanks again NDA!

I really like this base holds color and scent very well. The only problem I have with it is that it sweats a LOT. I just wish that you would get in more soap bases, scents and molds so that I didn't have to get them from other company's.

Once you get past the lack of lather, this is a great soap. My daughter has eczema and can't use any brand of soaps or shampoos so I use this for her baths mixed with vitamin e oil and calendula oil.

Very nice and able to get a really nice lather once you let the bar get wet enough for a few seconds. It has a creamier type of lather than some of the others and I have also blended this base with others and get nice results. Like mixing equal parts of the Shea Butter base with the Non-Certified Organic or the Clear Base to vary the types of lather. It's wonderful. I also like to make layered bars too that look really nice, like pouring a layer of colored and scented clear base and let set, and then a layer of shea butter base and let set, and then another layer of another blend in a similar color or lighter and let set. All scented of course. It's so much fun to be creative.

I agree with Melody from Wilmington, North Carolina, this soap base takes to long too melt and hardens quickly before being poured into molds. After I added my oils I had to reheat and melt the soap again. I purchased 50 pounds of this soap and it is best for use in silicone loaf molds or just a small amount mixed with other soaps. I won't purchase this base again.

I think the reason this soap base does not lather as well as say, the glycerin base is that is is also SLS free. My wife and I made some coconut lime soap with this base and my wife absolutely loves it. We think it lathers much better with a luffa, than a synthetic bath pouf. We don't really know why. It leaves the skin silky smooth, without a filmy feeling. We couldn't ask for more.

I have not been happy with this shea butter base. It takes too long to melt (and it leaves lumps) and hardens too quickly while trying to mix in essential oils and colorants (it gets lumpy as you pour). I was also told by someone using my final product that it did not lather. I won't purchase this base again. I did, however, like the organic glycerin and suspending bases. I will buy them again.

Amazing foaming content with Shea and my friends and I really like the fact that it comes nothing short of perfect Shea!! - BUY IT

This is my favorite MP base. The bars of soap even have a buttery feel to them when dry. Leaves the skin so soft without any residue feeling. Makes a great facial soap as well. Will be ordering lots of this product in the future. If you have not tried the Shea Butter MP base you are missing out.
