Stephenson's Melt and Pour Natural SLS Free Soap Base is free from foam boosters such as SLS and SLES, and although this base is slightly cloudier than the standard base, it is still odor-free and won't turn yellow during processing.
Our Melt & Pour Glycerin Soap base is ALL VEGETABLE OIL and contains no alcohol or harmful products to dry your skin! Glycerin, a natural emollient, draws moisture out of the air to benefit skin health. It cleanses without stripping or upsetting the delicate natural pH balance necessary for soft, healthy skin. And, since we don't use animal oils, our soap rinses clean and leaves no soapy film behind. All our soap bases are produced from the highest quality double distilled and deodorized clear coconut oil, forming luxurious lather and sparkling clarity.
Usage: A two pound brick can make between 10 - 20 soaps, depending on the size of the soap youre trying to make.

Caution: When making soaps it is good to remember that the Melt & Pour Bases contain water as part of the formula. So if they are left exposed to the atmosphere, the water will evaporate and the bar of soap will shrink. We would recommend fully wrapping the ENTIRE soap bar as soon as it is poured and cooled--this should minimize/eliminate any shrinkage.

Maybe I am doing something wrong but I found that this base comes out yellowish/brownish after I add my extracts. It also does not lather well, almost no lather at all.

Great price for this SLS base. Not much lather to it, some scents do not hold well in it as others do, but thats pretty much for any base I suppose. I add CG to it after I homogenize it, and lots of lather from a natural base!! Holds botanicals very well, I recommend this base for sure!!

I like this soap for use on my face as a daily cleanser although, when I try to melt it down in a soap melting pot that is sitting in a pan full of boiling water, 2 lbs of this soap takes an unbelievable whopping one hour to melt it down!! That to me is way too long for a natural melt and pour soap to melt down at this temperature of stove heat. Also, After it has finally all melted down and is ready to pour, it gets a massive 1/2 inch soap foam on the top of the melted soap which then makes the soap form not turn out quite like it should after it is poured into a soap mold. The way that melt and pour soap should be when it is completely melted & ready to pour is, smooth on top and all of the way through with little or no air bubbles or foam present before pouring. I just wish that this soap would melt down in 30 minutes or less & not have all of the soap foam that sits & floats on the top after it has been fully melted.

My first M&P attempt. Was a hit at my daughter's 11th B-day party. All the girls made soap, lip balm (with NDA's lip balm base) and bath bombs. The soap itself needs a good working up to lather but is easy enough to use. Does 'sweat' quite alot even with no water added. All in all, a good purchase.

I love this soap. I am new to soapmaking. This soap base was easy to melt and pour, and I love the way my skin feels moisterized after using this soap in the shower. The lather is adequate, not what I'm used to with commercial soaps that use SLS, but this is SLS free. My skin feels soft and silky and I love showering with the scent of my favorite EO's. I will not go back to using commercial soaps.

I made soap two weeks ago with a citrus scent that normally fades. The scent increased by day 2 and still has not faded. Washed with it yesterday and it left my skin soft. Fragrance and a touch of glycerine were all I added. They chemical smell that I normally have problems with in melt and pour soaps was not evident in this formula. I highly recommend this soap and will be ordering more.

I love this soap! I actually use it to make liquid soap. It dissolves well and foams great for an SLS free soap. It is very difficult to find good SLS free soap, and NDA makes the best!! It also has a pleasant smell.

It's extremely easy to work with, cuts cleanly and melts nicely in a double boiler. I also find that this soap blends nicely and holds lemongrass EO very well!

I just made my first M& P batch with this base and the soaps all came out just fantastic! It was easily to cut and use and the end result was amazing. Its nice to have less chemical options available at such affordable prices. I have super sensitive skin so I am always looking for the least chemical ingredients as possible in my cosmetics which gives me less chances on reacting to something. So I will always chose the more environmental and healthy choices whenever I can and now I can do so afforadably with this high quality product. I am hooked and I will be back for more.

I've tried several, but have always had to compensate for the natural "smell" of the base by adding more fragrance or essential oil, not exactly economical. This base is totally scent-free in its pure state. Takes additives beautifully, gorgeous lather, very gentle on the skin. My customers have noticed a big difference too in terms of longevity as well -- the finished product dissolves much less quickly. I've always told my customers not to let their soap sit in a puddle, but with this one, the lifespan is almost double of the other bases I've used. The packaging is brilliant, I love the fact that the 2 lb container is pre-scored into 4 separate pieces. Makes working with it a heck of a lot easier. I'm totally sold on this product. Two thumbs up!!

I cannot tell you how thrilled I was with the results of using this SLS Free Soap! It is white in the block, but when melted and infused with my Aromatics & Flowers, it came out CRYSTAL CLEAR...gently colored only by the Ess. Oils. In addition, the 24Kt. Gold Mica that I used in my first Amber prototype soap, actually distributed evenly throughout the soap...no settling at the bottom! This amazing SLS Free soap registers 1000% on my scale!

This soap base is great for people who are sensitive to Lauryl Sulfates. It produces great suds without the addition of SLS and leaves your skin silky soft. I use ONLY the Stephenson bases in my soap products, and my customers love them!
