Our Melt and Pour Suspending Soap Base is specially designed to 'suspend' additives such as jojoba beads or loofah. It can be used to create a decorative soap bar (e.g. such as by adding fine glitter) or a functional exfoliating bar. Creative possibilities are endless. Some trial and error is required with this product, as some additives may be too heavy for the suspending properties of the base to work properly. Users should try adding their ingredients at a slightly cooler temperature than normal, as the base will be thicker and more likely to suspend additives. The key ingredient in the Suspending M&P base is Silica. Silica creates a suspending matrix within the formulation, but that very property can also be apt to trap in more air and create a cloudy effect. Therefore, when stirring in additives, it should be done very gently and avoid any abrupt stirring as this can inadvertently welcome air into the formulation and cause unwanted cloudiness of the base.

Usage: A two pound brick can make between 10 - 20 soaps, depending on the size of the soap you’re trying to make.

Caution: When making soaps it is good to remember that the Melt & Pour Bases contain water as part of the formula. So if they are left exposed to the atmosphere, the water will evaporate and the bar of soap will shrink. We would recommend fully wrapping the ENTIRE soap bar as soon as it is poured and cooled--this should minimize/eliminate any shrinkage.

Easy to use and mold. Slight fragrance but easily masked with EO. Suspends apricot shell exfoliant and fine pumice for great exfoliating soaps with minimal effort! A must for soap artists! Picture is appropriate in showing it has a clouded color. LOVE IT!!

I tried the base last night for the first time and was happily surprised that it beautifully suspended Coral Jojoba Beads, and blended nicely with Strawberry fragrance. I wouldn't call the color "crystal clear" because it's definitely a bit cloudy. Get's an A grade from me.

What a fantastic soap. This is the perfect soap to use if you are adding certain ingredients (i.e. oatmeal, rose petals, lavender buds, etc.). The soap helps to suspend the ingredients so that it doesn't float to the bottom or top like it does with the standard glycerin "melt and pour" soaps. I would gladly purchase this again.

I had my very first M&P experience with this product, and was very pleased. I was also pleasantly surprised to see how fast and easy it was to use! I tried it with glitter and a bit of fragrance as a gift for three young girls, and the soaps turned out beautifully, the glitter perfectly and homogeneously suspended.

Suspends wonderfully, and as with all of NDA soap bases, it feels great to use. Using only the suspending formula for heavier additives, and blending it with other soap bases for lighter additives. A great base to get creative with and make some very unique soaps.

This made for a fantastic soap making experience - and my friend and I were making soap for the very first time! We had no trouble at all getting the apricot seed to suspend in the mixture, it just stirred right in and looks absolutely beautiful, and hardened in the fridge darn quickly to boot! Rinsing our hands of the excess soap chips as we were making the bars was a joy, and this mixture took to scents fantastically. We recommend this product x10!

The Suspension Soap is a life-saver when making melt and pour with dry additives. No longer does my oatmeal float to the top or sink to the bottom! You do have to watch the temperature closely as it doesn't tolerate 'too hot', as with stirring it too much. Just a wonderful product! Worth the price of keeping things evenly "suspended" throughout the bar.

This STEPHENSON M&P Suspension base is Fabulous; it melts easily,takes all forms of dyes well, accepts fragrance and Essential oils terrifically, and most of all: It will suspend/float just about any exfoliant you wish.I have used seeds, jojoba spheres, mica, powdered pumice, ground loofah, glitter, small erasers.They all worked acceptionally well. You won't be dissapointed, It finishes off after setting up with an easy to remove from mold soap that is very eye pleaseing. I'll come back for more for sure.
