Our Melt & Pour Clear Soap Base sets a new standard for "standard" glycerin soap base. It is crystal clear with no odor and is made from ALL VEGETABLE OIL. Glycerin, a natural emollient, draws moisture out of the air to benefit skin health. It cleanses without stripping or upsetting the delicate natural pH balance necessary for soft, healthy skin. And, since we don't use animal oils, our soap rinses clean and leaves no soapy film behind. All our soap bases are produced from the highest quality double distilled and deodorized clear coconut oil, forming luxurious lather and sparkling clarity.
Usage: A two pound brick can make between 10 - 20 soaps, depending on the size of the soap youre trying to make.

Caution: When making soaps it is good to remember that the Melt & Pour Bases contain water as part of the formula. So if they are left exposed to the atmosphere, the water will evaporate and the bar of soap will shrink. We would recommend fully wrapping the ENTIRE soap bar as soon as it is poured and cooled--this should minimize/eliminate any shrinkage.

I love the individual bricks, I bought the block this last time and it has been a mess to cut, plus it melted a little somewhere and there was soap all over inside the box and the bag it is wrapped in was stuck inside the soap. Great product tho will continue to buy.

This soap base is excellent. My customers rave about this product. It's easy to work with and it has lot of lather. You can add fragrance oil, essential oil, color, dried flowers, exfoliants and you will always get an excellent result.

This is a really great soap. I made some bars using pure honey and no fragrance. It turned out really well. The soap remains clear and has a beautiful honey color. Althought it is not an abundant suds maker, it's nice on the skin. And it sells very well.

This soap base is one of the best if not the best on the market. I've tried some other m&p soap bases and this one is untouchable. It takes additatives well-I added some of the Australian pastel pink clay and some of the Australian Ivory clay and they both made absolutely beautiful bars, especially when poured into a decorative mold. I only bought a little because it was the first time that I had ever used it and now I wish I had bought more!

This base is great! I love that a block fits perfectly in NDA rectangular mold and I find it lathers really well and takes fragrance well too. Great product. I like it better than the Goats milk and I was a goats milk fan for a long time!

I was very pleased with the clear M&P base. It was the best deal I could find, listing the ingredient I wanted most (coconut oil). I've only used it for one application: shaving soap. My stepfather has used shaving soap for decades and I blended him a batch with the soap base, some bentonite clay and a touch of NDA cedar oil for a manly scent. He won't use the stuff he bought from the supermarket any more; he says this recipe give him faster lather and gets rid of razor drag (that's what the bentonite is for). He loves the smell. I love making soap from scratch and I've tried making my own shaving soaps to equal the results from NDA's melt & pour, but so far I haven't, even if it's just the fact that my own recipes leave my lips tasting ... well, soapy. The clear soap base tastes sweet. Considering the cost and time savings, I may just end up buying a lot of M&P and making my shaving soaps the easy way, though I'll probably buy the white kind because the bentonite makes the clear soap an unattractive gray.

According to my customers, the soap is brilliant for those who suffer from skin conditions. I s'pose it's 'cause it's a natural base. The base is clear too, if you don't use too much FO. I'm not a huge fan of the smell of the soap when you're working with it - then again I've always been sensitive to strong smells. The smell isn't nearly as strong when the soap solidifies. The lather isn't as other soaps (like soap from the Bodyshop, for example), but it quickly washes off, which I really like. I don't like how long it lasts. A bar lasts (in our house) for perhaps 5 days whereas an equal weight bodyshop bar lasts ~14 days Pros: - Great for those who have sensitive skin - The lather rinses off real quick and clean - Clear - CHEAP (well, at NDA it is) - Melts Quick - Takes most FO's easily Cons: - Bad work smell - Not a thick lather (well, i like thick lather - if you don't, consider it a pro) - Some FO's don't blend - Does not last long at all. Overall, the customers and family are happy with the product. Go buy it.

I just am very impressed with the Stephenson's superb quality and unbeatable price. By way of a quick comparison: Life of the Party makes a pretty good clear soap but the price is four times as much at Michaels for the exact same quantity and I will also say the same superb quality too.

The clear gycerin soap base is the best! I have tried a couple other brands but am sold on this one. I have extremely dry skin but after using this soap I never feel dried out. Not only are they a terrific product - the prices are the best I have come across - and I have searched many suppliers. I am so glad I found New Directions. Now I am eager to try all the soap bases.

This is a lovely M&P base!!! Melts nicely, even faster than other bases I have tried. No nasty odors, and takes scents very well. Colours nicely, too. And, something I REALLY love is that this base has the most natural ingredients of any clear M&P base I have come across thus far. This will be my one and only clear M&P base from now on!! .... I do, however, recommend buying the smaller blocks instead of the bulk bag. Although the soap was easy to cut, I would personally pay the extra few dollars for the smaller blocks, and avoid the time-consumption that comes with cutting it myself, because it took a really long time!!
