FYI you should never use this oil for a lip balm!

I am very sad to have to give this a low rating. The smell is beyond awful, I am so glad I bought a very small amount of it. I really wanted this oil to work because it seems to have such great qualities, but if you can't get beyond the smell it doesn't matter how great of qualities it has. I have used the entire bottle trying to find a combination of recipes that masks the scent sufficiently to no avail. I have used it in extremely small amounts even, but the smell is uncoverable. In fact, it's so bad it makes me nauseous. Anyway, you might be thinking how bad can it be? Just like I did. I would find something else to use in place of this. If you insist on buying it and trying it, buy a small bottle. Really. I don't usually believe the super negative reviews, I think people are exagerating most of the time, but this was really horrible. Try at your own risk.

I recently ordered Neem Oil because I wanted to create an eczema cream, and I, through research, decided to try Neem Oil. However, I cannot get beyond the fragrance. The price is so very wonderful; however, I am unable to conceal the scent which is very awful to me. If I am unable to use it, I can not honestly rate the product.

when I bought this oil I was not prepared for the smell even though I had read the reviews, and paid close attention to Alyssa's where she likened the smell of Neem to peanuts, I thought how bad can it be, I love peanuts until I was assaulted by the smell and my heart sank. The smell was so strong in the soap that I kept it wraped in plastic bags under the cabinet . In the mini time I had no oil to use on my son's eczema, and I went crazy trying to get rid of the smell. I mixed about 1 oz of Neem oil with about 10 drops each of Eucalyptus,Citronella Ceylon,Lemongrass,Tea tree,Rosemary, and Bergamot eos, 1 Tbs each of sweet almond butter, soy butter, aloe butter,1/tsp of Stearic acid melted together with 1 tsp of polawax. The smell was still there but not as strong, and 2 weeks the smell is completely gone. By the way I just finished using the 2 1/2 bars of soap that I could not stand because of the smell and I must say I love the soap and the best part is you don't smell like neem after you bathe with it. I can't wait to get the funds so I can order more melt&pour base to make another batch. I bought all the these items from NDA thank you so much

Great stuff but like other reviewers said, it has a very, very strong aroma. Unfortunately, it gags my wife. She cannot stand it. It makes her sick. I made a batch to use as a moisturizing oil and added Neem. I cannot use it in the house at all. Even worse, if I pet the cats or touch anything, she smells it. I cut my moisturizing oil with other deodorized oils and added a ton of eucalyptus. I used it yesterday and she was "ok" with it but now has to deal with a strong eucalyptus smell in the morning. I will use it in soaps and hope the aroma dissipates somewhat. Personally, I like the smell especially with the essential oil blend I used but I admit it is funky. I want to use it as a pest repellent but I don't know how well that will go with that small. Too bad...I like it

You have to get past the smell to work with this oil. It's really bad. The good news is it's so powerful it only takes a little and the smell doesn't stay in soaps or lotions. This is so versatile it's the one oil I will never run out of. It's the only non-toxic product I have found that not only killed the aphids on my roses but they did not come back the next year. I used 1 TBSP of neem oil mixed with warm water and sprayed it on my roses. I spray it on my tomatoes to keep the bugs off and on my cucumbers to keep the mildew off. I haven't noticed that it has made a difference on my eczema but I use it in all my soap, natural hand sanitizer, lotion and deodorants. I sneak it into my son's acne soap. He doesn't even know it's there. You can also use it to get rid of fleas and head lice.

Amazing stuff, great price. Excellent addition to soap for people with skin problems. Also, besides all the amazing properties listed above, neem is a fantastic, non-toxic ant repellent. Just mix a little with some water and rubbing alcohol, put in a spray bottle and use it anywhere that you have ants invading. Or just paint a line of neem oil with your finger and the ants will never cross it again.

When i first smelt this oil it was stinky but not as bad as some people have described it to be. However the smell just does not dissipate and can be nauseating after a while. That being said, the healing properties are AMAZING that i can deal with the stench. It is defiantly is not something i would use before leaving the house. Tea tree oil used to be my miracle oil, not anymore! Neem oil has so many uses it is a must have for everyone!

Yes it does have a musty smell. for some reason everything I have tried that gets rid of athlete's foot fairly quickly smells unpleasant. But when your skin itches bad enough, you quit caring about the smell and just want the fungus to die. Not to mention this is a very inexpensive solution to the problem. I mix it with some avocado and orange butter for a foot rub design specifically for fungal infections. The orange butter smells wonderful.

I used this product in a lotion bar designed for eczema relief. So, the benefical factors should outweigh the scent factor. It is well diluted, but still noticible. I am advising users of my lotion bars to use the product as a nighttime regimen for their hands with cotton gloves. The scent isn't real bad, but it is noticible if you have your hands hear your face.

Thick, viscous, dark amber color that smelled like a cross between garlic and peanuts to me. I purchased a sample of this a while ago and forgot about it until my friend came down with scabies. She applied it directly to her skin in the affected areas with a drop of tea tree oil and a drop of peppermint oil and after two weeks, is completely cured and has way better skin now than before the scabies incident. We added some to her lotion for daily use and her eczema is gone. Absolutely wonderful oil and has become the carrier oil for medicinal formulations.

I have researched Neem extensively and it has been shown scientifically to be very effective as a bug repellant. Not only that, it stops bugs from feeding. A 2% solution of Neem is as effective as a 20% concentration of DEET (and DEET IS toxic). You can mix Neem with a teaspoon of dish liquid and water and spray it on your lawn or plants to kill bugs and grubs (but I would caution against doing too much because it will kill beneficial honeybees and bumblebees along with annoying wasps). The one negative, however, is that the smell is very much like rotten onions to my nose and it requires heavy masking with other essential oils.

WOW, this stuff stinks! But it is AMAZING!! I blended a pretty generous amount of neem with charcoal, green tea, glycerin, various oils and butters, and covered up the stink with tea tree and peppermint to create an absolutely fantastic facial bar that friends and customers cannot get enough of! My sister has terrible rosacea and excema, and I have a friend who has had cystic acne the 15 years I've known her and they have both shown vast improvements since using my bars -- and I know its the neem!

Use the strong, almost meaty odour of neem with food-y essential oils like cardamon, tumeric, davana, curry and so forth. solid at room temperature, it can be made liquid by putting the glass jar in a bath of hot water.

I combined this oil with Cedarwood Texas, Cedarleaf, Tea Tree Lemon, Citronella Ceylon and Citronella Java to make a natural remedy for my kitten's fleas. He had been unsuccessfully treated for fleas at the vet, but this combination of oils applied directly to the infected area, then combed out and bathed cleared the problem up in about a week of daily use. It was time consuming but worth it. I would recommend this treatment to anyone who has not had success with commercially available flea treatments; just be sure to bathe your pet, rather than letting it lick off the oils. For this type of use, Neem oil's viscosity is a great virtue.

I bought Neem oil because I had been reading all over the web that it was a great alternative to chemical bug repellents. So far I have tried it round the house rather than on my skin and it seems to deter small spiders, but have no effect on ants. The oil itself has quite a strong odour which some might find off-putting. I mixed it with some Lavender oil to make it smell nicer and put drops of the mix on strips of paper towel.

Neem EO is a great bug repellent. When mixed properly with other repellent EOs such as Citronella Eucalyptus, Lavender, Rose Geranium, Tea Tree, Ceder, Orange Oil, Peppermint and Rosemary to name a few they can make great bug repellent products. Big sellers are Dog soap blends but you can even make a spray for your human customers or a hair treatment for school kids for head lice (Tea tree, rosemary, lavender, eucalyptus, rose geranium). Add some to your lotion bars to make a natural summer time product.
