A bit less complex and more "green" than fresh nutmeg, but still a wonderful scent. I'll probably continue to use freshly grated nutmeg in my soap, but I could see using this in an oil blend. It would blend beautifully with both warmer, spicy smells and with more herbaceous oils.

Awesome ! It's earthy yet light, from up close the scent is biting and fresh very woodsy and mysterious. From a little distance it smells medicinal, calming and soothing, less overpowering than I expected. With some distance we find that burnt wood rosewood like smell, with very colorful and sweet overtones.

I purchased Nutmeg EO to be used on my Thyroid. I had found research that stated it was great for the Thyroid along with Myrtle EO. The doctor kept telling me he didn't like the looks of my neck - many test later and still no super abnormal thyroid problem detected. So I purchased Nutmeg EO from you and started applying a small drop on the thyroid 2x a day(AM & PM). Well a few weeks later and low and behold my "adams' apple" again appeared and so did the lower notch at the back of the neck. ORAC: 158,100 uTE/100g. It was recently found to have a potent antiinflammatory & anticoagulant properties. It helps support the adreanal glands and gives you added energy. This is another must have in my "first aid" chest. Great product and a high quality. Thank you.

Nutmeg has helped my physical body intwo different instances for two different problems. Once I received severe 3d degree burns on my legs: nutmeg oil applied directly to the skin (recommended by an Indonesian friend) allowed the skin to heal without scarring at all. Another time I sprained my ankle and a friend applied nutmeg in a poultice to the swelling and it went down in about 15 minutes. Personally I dislike the smell but try to have some around for emergencies.

This is an excellent quality oil and I am sure I have not been using this EO to the fullest possible benefit.

While I like the scent, it doesn't seem to be a true nutmeg scent. It's a little muskier. Perhaps if it was diluted a bit it would have a more real scent.

This essential oil was one among 21 in my first purchase from NDA - although not my first EO purchase - and it's my favorite, hands down. Although I love the scent of the cooking spice, the smell of the essential oil is even better. At first blush, it smells just like the ground spice but with greater density and complexity. Without question, this is an EO that doesn't fully reveal it's fragrance on the first, second or third sniff. Like many absolutes, it may be best experienced in a diluted form. It also seems that no two reviewers reference the same backnotes: to me, the spice scent is strong, but there is also something in it that smells a bit like melted butter or perhaps heavy cream. I had initially intended to blend this oil with several other spice oils in a body butter, but it's so fantastic as a stand alone scent that I'll also blend it with sesame oil, as I think the nutty aroma will complement this oil well. (Oh, and if you're looking for something that smells like pumpkin pie, I don't think this is it, at least not without other oils. Some people might find it smells a bit like eggnog). Also blends beautifully with benzoin!

Lovely warm, nutty, woodsy, spicy, I could go on and on. This IS like you would expect but very strong. If you sniff with bottle a bit away from your nose you get a better sense of this scent. Cant wait to use in my perfume blends!

I just got this oil yesterday and I have net yet had a chance to use it(other than smelling it). The scent, however, is phenomenal. I can't wait to see what I can can come up wit to use this oil. It is truly a beautiful scent. Makes me thing of pumpkin pie. I has a really warm, soft spicy scent. I will use this one a lot.

Very strong scent and I think it best way diluted down or used with other diluted scents. High quality.

This reminds me of a classier version of coffee. Similar to the cooking scent. Slightly musky, and reminiscent of burnt wood. On the bitter side. Good EO, long lasting in natural perfume.

Probably more rich than the nutmeg you are used to, this one is of superb quality and wonderful for a warming blend. Really nice during the holidays and especially useful in the cold winters.
