Soap Paints are a wonderful way to brighten up plain and boring soaps. Our Soap Paints are vibrant and will last through several layer. Available in assorted colors, each color pot contains 15ml of natural, non-bleeding color in a vegetable base. Water-soluble, safe and non-toxic, these soap paints can be used on both cold processed soaps and melt & pour soaps. Colors can be blended to create custom colors.
Soap Paints Tips and Care:
• The use of professional artist brushes is recommended in order to create smooth, even strokes. Cheaper brushes can create an uneven, streaked appearance in the applied paint.
• Allow painted surface to dry for 15 minutes (we suggest overnight) before applying a second color layer.
• Do not wrap painted soaps for at least 24 hours to avoid paint pulling away from soap surface. The soap needs time to cure.
• It is recommended that colors be applied to scrap soap so as to gain a feel for working with the paint.
• If soap is difficult to work with lightly dust the soap surface with cornstarch for better paint adhesion. Paint has a tendency to pull away from oily surfaces, such as soap. This is especially true of melt and pour soaps. CP (cold process) soaps tend to have more of a porous surface and paint adheres better.
