Lemongrass is an aromatic tropical plant, native to Sri Lanka and South India; it is traditionally used in many cultural dishes as a flavouring agent for its strong lemon taste.
Lemongrass is also traditionally known to have antibacterial, antiseptic and antispasmodic properties. It has been used to aid digestion and relieve digestive upsets. As an antispasmodic it relaxes the muscles of the stomach and helps relieve cramping and flatulence. Its antibacterial properties have also made Lemongrass a popular ingredient in many products that help alleviate and prevent acne and athletes foot.

Common Uses:
Applied topically as a poultice, lemongrass has been known to help ease joint pain and can stop the further spreading of infected wounds.
It can also be used in ointments, creams, compressesand liniments.
Lemongrass can be added to both hot and cold process soap making, bath fizzies and potpourri. An excellent blend for sachets .
