Palmarosa Essential Oil

Description: This wild growing plant has long slender stems and terminal flowering tops. The grassy leaves from which the essential oil is derived is extremely fragrant.
Color: Pale Yellow
Common Uses: Palmarosa properties include use as an antiseptic, bactericidal, cicatrizant, digestive, febrifuge, hydrating, stimulant (digestive, circulatory), and tonic. It is used extensively as a fragrance component in cosmetics, perfumes and especially soaps due to its excellent tenacity. Aroma therapists recommend it as an oil to diffuse during flu epidemics. Its action against viral illnesses and bacteria – coupled with the attractive smell - make it a great oil to use to disinfect a room. Maggie Tisserand, in her book “Stress: The Aromatic Solution” recommends Palmarosa for acne, alopecia, lack of concentration and depression with apathy and despair.

Blends well with: cananga, geranium, rosewood, sandalwood, guaiacwood, cedarwood and floral oils.
Aromatic Scent: Palmarosa essential oil has a sweet, floral fragrance with a hint of rose.
History: Palmarosa was known as Indian Geranium Oil and used in combination with the more expensive rose oils.

Nice Scent! I personally hate the smell of geranium bourbon so I was scared of this one (I figured it would be similar). I am pleasantly surprised!

This scent is amazing and reasonably priced! This oil has a similar aroma to Rose Geranium – similar properties too. Great blended with other oils.

I'm new to EO's, but I really do like this New Directions. The people are so nice and the oils are so fragrant and pure. I love this Palmarosa oil, it's so fresh and calming. I use it in a Transition blend with Cedarwood and Ylang Ylang Extra. This blend is great for making that transition from work to relaxing or from work to Yoga. Thanks ND!!!

When I bought this oil I didn't expect to love the scent; I just wanted something less camphorous to use when I had the flu. Generally I'm not wild about "floral" fragrances, but this one is really nice, particularly for summer because the scent is fresh, not cloying. Right now I'm combining this one with lavender and bergamot in a linen spray. I think this scent is best used in combination with others, even though it's very pleasant from the bottle.

This truly works. Right after I ordered this my teenager brought home the flu. After diffusing thru the whole house I sat back and watched my family recover faster than ever. Really qiute a wonder. Thanks so much for this fine quality EO.

I love this palmarosa, one of the best I've encountered. Really nice rose-geranium scent, but I think it has a bit more of a nice 'greener' note than others I've used. Excellent quality.

Suitable for all skin care applications. This one is EXCELLENT price! Use for acne, anorexia, cellular regeneration, dermatitis, moisturiser, nervous exhaustion, skin infections, scars, sores, stress related conditions, wrinkles. I LOVE the light rosy scent.
