Sweet Almond Butter

Botanical Name:Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil
Description: Sweet Almond Butter is obtained by the cold pressing of selected fruits followed by a full refining process. The result is a soft, creamy butter rich in proteins and Vitamin D that can be used to soften and re-condition dry skin.
Sweet Almond Butter exhibits good spread-ability on the skin, making it ideal as a massage butter or body balm, and it can be added to soap, creams, lotions, lip balms, body butters, hair pomades, bath bombs and more.
It should be stored in a cool dark place and has a shelf-life of approximately 1 - 2 years when stored properly.

Recommended Usage:
Lotions & Creams: 2 - 20%
Balms: 5 – 100 %
Bar Soaps: 3 – 12 %
Hair Conditioners: 1 – 5 %

Please Note: As with any manufacturing process, New Directions Aromatics encourages small, lab scale manufacturing for evaluation purposes prior to full commercial manufacturing.

I add my almond butter in creams and I love the smooth creamy texture it adds! I also use it in place of cocoa butter for a lighter cream and it works great!

I just made my first batch of cream with almond butter and love the subtle cream tone and finished texture.

The butter was grainy when I got it, but I can easily melt it and I can't feel grains in the final product. The butter is so smooth, I love it in lip balms!

This is great stuff! Of all the NDA butters I've sampled (including Shea butters, Tucuma and Grapeseed) the Sweet Almond Butter is my hands down favorite. I should point out here that I am not a soap maker, and so I cannot vouch for this product's usefulness in that application. But when it comes to moisturization, texture, and ease of absorption, this butter is without peer. It has a softer texture at room temperature than the processed Shea butter and is more easily absorbed - as well as less greasy - than that butter, but it has a firmer texture than Grapeseed Butter. I should also mention that the texture is completely smooth, without the heavy graininess of the Grapeseed butter. Also, Sweet Almond Butter has no real scent. In terms of its uses, I like using this butter neat as a moisturizer that will not irritate skin, or blended with Shea Butter and a little glycerine for even better penetration of moisture. When applied neat, Sweet Almond Butter takes a minute or so to absorb, but it leaves the skin quite silky with only the barest hint of oiliness left behind. If you want a moisturizer with no oily residue, try the combination of Shea, Sweet Almond Butter, and glycerine. Experiment with the proportions (or add other butters in small amounts) until you reach the consistency you desire. I ordered only a pound of this, and really wish I had ordered more! Great value for the price, and I couldn't recommend it more highly!

Easy to work with. I added some sweet almond butter into my Mand P soap. Softening ingredient. Can be used for massage and as an addition to body butters.
