This is great stuff! Of all the NDA butters I've sampled (including Shea butters, Tucuma and Grapeseed) the Sweet Almond Butter is my hands down favorite. I should point out here that I am not a soap maker, and so I cannot vouch for this product's usefulness in that application. But when it comes to moisturization, texture, and ease of absorption, this butter is without peer. It has a softer texture at room temperature than the processed Shea butter and is more easily absorbed - as well as less greasy - than that butter, but it has a firmer texture than Grapeseed Butter. I should also mention that the texture is completely smooth, without the heavy graininess of the Grapeseed butter. Also, Sweet Almond Butter has no real scent.
In terms of its uses, I like using this butter neat as a moisturizer that will not irritate skin, or blended with Shea Butter and a little glycerine for even better penetration of moisture. When applied neat, Sweet Almond Butter takes a minute or so to absorb, but it leaves the skin quite silky with only the barest hint of oiliness left behind. If you want a moisturizer with no oily residue, try the combination of Shea, Sweet Almond Butter, and glycerine. Experiment with the proportions (or add other butters in small amounts) until you reach the consistency you desire.
I ordered only a pound of this, and really wish I had ordered more! Great value for the price, and I couldn't recommend it more highly!
