For skin and hair, Tea Tree has been used to combat acne, oily skin, head lice and dandruff. As essential oils have become more accepted by the public, the use of Tea Tree has increased significantly. This can be readily evidenced by the commercial products now using Tea Tree essential oil. History: The aboriginal people of Australia have long used Tea tree oil; similarly, Tea tree has a long history of use within the field of aromatherapy. The oil was a highly valued product as it was issued to each soldier and sailor as part of their kit in order to treat tropical infections and infected wounds. Cautions: Tea Tree essential oil may cause dermal sensitization in some people. Do not take internally.

A friend used Tea Tree oil to get rid of lice - it worked when nothing else would. Also, in the same campground, used it to repel lice, mosquitoes, and to cure fungal infections.

As an aromatherapist and reflexologist I have used this oil on the usual but recently started adding a few drops along with orange EO to floor cleaner and the whole house smells great; add same to murphy's soap for cleaning wood cabinets, doors, etc. knowing it's better than using harsh chemicals.

Tea Tree oil is great as a natural insect repellent. We use when we go outside or out on the lake. All bugs stay away from us. It is also wonderful to use for bacterial and odor problems--use a few drops on a WET washcloth and clean offensive genital smells. It works better than soap and water to eliminate the smell. It leaves a tingly fresh feel also after using. I carry it during the day in my purse with a washcloth and use it whenever I need to freshen up.

Excellent quality! I use this for many things - gargle with it for sore throats, put on cuts, pimples, etc. I also mixed 60 drops with 15 ml emulsifier and 4 oz water as a spray for my sister to spray in my young nieces hair to repel lice - as lice goes around the day care she goes to now and again.

What an amazing essential oil!
Purchase this versatile, little gem and you'll be able to pitch many of the other "standards" in your first aid kit. (C'mon... in all honesty, they're probably expired, anyway, right?)

I am surprised I have not rated this oil yet as it is my absolute favorite! Tea Tree is a must have for anyone starting out with aromatherapy! I use it in my first aid kit in place of peroxide or alcohol as it has great astringent qualities. I also use it in my cleaning product for kitchen and bath. This is one of the most versatile products from skin health to home cleansing!
Again ND has the best you can buy at the best price!

Have tried Tea Tree oil in a base cream and it has a very nice effect to it --- it's very soothing, and it actually "whitens" or brightens the complexion somewhat.

I have used tea tree oil for a very long time, and the quality of the NDA offering is superb. We use it almost exclusively for wound care, but have also used it for hair care, disinfecting sick rooms, and household cleaning. It's a staple in our first aid kits (the 2ml vials offered under the Bottles & Jars tab are superb for this purpose!)

The tea tree essential oil is well packaged and of a great quality. It's excellent in soap/cream/lotion making.
The only suggestion I would like to make is to add an expiry date to all oil labels.

Besides Lavender, Tea Tree is probably the most useful oil in all of the essential oils. It is a definite MUST HAVE for any aromatherapist. And especially for one just starting out. The properties are many and this oil does not have to be diluted everytime it is used as most E.O.s are. It can be used neat. But still should be diluted as it could cause sensitization in some.
It is a most versatile Australian oil and is claimed by some to be a medicine chest in a bottle. It is non-toxic and non-irritant but with possible sensitization in some individuals. Use for abrasions, abscesses, acne, antiseptic, athlete's foot, blisters, burns, cold sores, cuts, head lice, insect bites, laundry antiseptic, nappy rash, scalds, septic wounds, thrush, etc. (Also known as Melasol, Narrow-Leaved Paperbark Tea Tree, Ti-Tree, Ti-Trol.)
