Extraction Method: Steam
Origin: Australia
Description: The Tea Tree is a small tree or shrub with needle-like leaves. It is also domestically referred to as Ti-tree. The Tea Tree is very robust; it is ready for cutting only two years after its’ previous harvest.
Color: Pale yellow to colorless
Common Uses: Tea Tree essential oil is best known as a very powerful immune stimulant. It can help to fight all three categories of infectious organisms (Bacteria, Fungi, and Viruses), and there is evidence that Tea Tree oil massage prior to an operation may help to fortify the body and reduce post-operative shock, Used in vapor therapy, Tea Tree oil can help with colds, measles, sinusitis and viral infections. For skin and hair, Tea Tree has been used to combat acne, oily skin, head lice and dandruff. As essential oils have become more accepted by the public, the use of Tea Tree has increased significantly. This can be readily evidenced by the commercial products now using Tea Tree essential oil.
Consistency: Thin
Note: Middle
Strength of Aroma: Medium to Strong
Blends well with: Tea Tree essential oil blends particularly well with Cinnamon, Clary sage, Clove, Geranium, Lavender, Lemon, Myrrh, Nutmeg, Rosewood, Rosemary and Thyme.
Aromatic Scent: Tee Tree essential oil has a fresh, Antiseptic and medicinal scent. It also has characteristic mint and spice back-notes.
History: The aboriginal people of Australia have long used Tea tree oil; similarly, Tea tree has a long history of use within the field of aromatherapy. In World War Two, the producers and the cutters of Tea Tree were exempt from military service until enough essential oil had been accumulated. The oil was a highly valued product as it was issued to each soldier and sailor as part of their kit in order to treat tropical infections and infected wounds.
Cautions: Tea Tree essential oil may cause dermal sensitization in some people. Do not take internally.
Disclaimer:
Please note, the International Federation of Aromatherapists do not recommend that Essential Oils be taken internally unless under the supervision of a Medical Doctor who is also qualified in clinical Aromatherapy.

What an amazing essential oil! Purchase this versatile, little gem and you'll be able to pitch many of the other "standards" in your first aid kit. (C'mon... in all honesty, they're probably expired, anyway, right?)

I tried Tea Tree for the first time after reading a review from "Candice from Sarasota".....Her comments sold me on it ...... and WOW !!! now I carry it around with me all the time....( in a little bottle) You would be surprised how many cuts. scapes, and bruises my grand daughter and her friends get when playing . They all come running to me for tea tree... What a great product and reasonable price......Thanks... New Directions

I am surprised I have not rated this oil yet as it is my absolute favorite! Tea Tree is a must have for anyone starting out with aromatherapy! I use it in my first aid kit in place of peroxide or alcohol as it has great astringent qualities. I also use it in my cleaning product for kitchen and bath. This is one of the most versatile products from skin health to home cleansing! Again ND has the best you can buy at the best price!

The price is great, I got 100ml for the price of a 15ml bottle at my natural products store. Even whit the shipping fees, it's worth it.

Have tried Tea Tree oil in a base cream and it has a very nice effect to it --- it's very soothing, and it actually "whitens" or brightens the complexion somewhat.

I have used tea tree oil for a very long time, and the quality of the NDA offering is superb. We use it almost exclusively for wound care, but have also used it for hair care, disinfecting sick rooms, and household cleaning. It's a staple in our first aid kits (the 2ml vials offered under the Bottles & Jars tab are superb for this purpose!)

The tea tree essential oil is well packaged and of a great quality. It's excellent in soap/cream/lotion making. The only suggestion I would like to make is to add an expiry date to all oil labels.

This is a very good tea tree oil. The scent is true and strong. It's a wonderful addition to shaving soap and perfect in a blemish gel.

This essential oil is ESSENTIAL to have! Our family uses it for most of our skin irritations, such as; cuts, burns, insect bites, cold sores, etc. When mixed with a carrier oil and warm water, it makes a Great Foot soak!

Besides Lavender, Tea Tree is probably the most useful oil in all of the essential oils. It is a definite MUST HAVE for any aromatherapist. And especially for one just starting out. The properties are many and this oil does not have to be diluted everytime it is used as most E.O.s are. It can be used neat. But still should be diluted as it could cause sensitization in some. It is a most versatile Australian oil and is claimed by some to be a medicine chest in a bottle. It is non-toxic and non-irritant but with possible sensitization in some individuals. Use for abrasions, abscesses, acne, antiseptic, athlete's foot, blisters, burns, cold sores, cuts, head lice, insect bites, laundry antiseptic, nappy rash, scalds, septic wounds, thrush, etc. (Also known as Melasol, Narrow-Leaved Paperbark Tea Tree, Ti-Tree, Ti-Trol.)
