Vitamin E USP Cosmetic Grade is a golden yellow to clear brown viscous liquid which will oxidize upon exposure to air and light, resulting in gradual darkening. This variety of Vitamin E is gluten free and it may add a tint of color to skincare formulations.
Vitamin E plays a crucial role in protecting skin cells and membranes from environmental damage. This protection extends to stopping damage to the skin from UV rays, pollutants and aging. It provides deep miniaturization for the skin whilst allowing the skin to breathe and function naturally, therefore helping to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. For use in cosmetics, Vitamin E is a natural preservative that helps sustain shelf life of products. Adding 0.5% Vitamin E to a carrier oil will preserve the oil. If you want to preserve the oil and add benefits to the skin, add minimum of 2% Vitamin E to maximum of 30% to the formulation. This particular variety should not be applied directly to the skin, as it is designed specifically for addition to cosmetics.
INCI: Tocopherol Acetate
Constituents: 67% d-alpha-tocopherol acetate and 33% soy.
Solubility: Vitamin E USP is soluble in alcohol and oils. It is insoluble in water.
Cautions: Keep tightly closed in a cool dark, dry, well ventilated area since this Vitamin E will darken in the presence of high temperatures and will degrade in the presence of alkali.
