Botanical Name: Artemisia scoparia Plant Part: Leaves and Twigs Extraction Method: Steam Origin: China Description: This perennial herb grows up to 1.5 meters (5 feet) and has a whitish stem, silvery-green, divided leaves covered with silky, fine hairs, and pale yellow flowers Color: Yellow-Brown Common Uses: This specie of Wormwood is commonly known as "Redstem Wormwood". It is reputed to be a treatment for jaundice, hepatitis and inflammation of the gall bladder. The plant is considered to be an antipyretic, antiseptic, cholagogue, diuretic and vasodilator. Consistency: Medium Note: Base Strength of Aroma: Medium Blends well with: Wormwood blends well with Jasmine, Orange and Lavender. Aromatic Scent: Wormwood oil is considered to be aromatic. History: Wormwood (Artemisia scoparia) is commonly confused with Absinthe (Artemisia absinthium). Wormwood is native to Asia and is considered to have toxic components. Cautions: Wormwood oil is a toxin, neurotoxin and an abortifacient.

Be sure you understand how to use and how NOT to use this product, however, with that being said - this is the BEST oil you can find! When I took the lid off and I had the vial a good foot and a half from my nose mind you - the aroma just waifted up toward me and was soooo pleasant! Very clean and earthy! A bit woody smelling but not wormy smelling at all! : )
