The essential oil is obtained by steam distillation from the branches and wood. Native to southern France, this member of the Juniper family is now common throughout Europe and North Africa.

Rating: Liquid Smoke (you might have it in your cupboard). That's the first thing that comes to mind. Sweet & smoky, similar to barbecue over a real fire. I haven't used it yet, but imho it will be great in men's products.

Rating: Read the reviews prior to ordering. Not what I expected when I smelled it. Yes, very strong and very smokey scent, but I love it! I've tried several mixes with other EO's from ND and have to say that it does an amazing combination with Myrrh. Also, Bergamot, and Sweet Fennel do well. Gonna try with other citrus and spice notes. Oh, and it really takes just a 'smidgen' of the Cade in any blend...

Rating: Cade is extremely strong and overwhelming at first, but it does blend extremely nicely to make a wonderful, unique smoke scent. It smells like a bonfire. This oil really grew on me and I'd recommend it to anyone who is looking for exciting, more masculine fragrances.

Rating: Smoky, dry, and burnt. I needed something to recreate that smoky campfire smell for my cologne and this is perfect. It's very strong, so I recommend diluting it before use.

Rating: Holy smokes, is this stuff strong! Smells just like a campfire or wood smoke if you're looking to add that to a blend, and a little bit goes a very long way. It is detectable, albeit mild, at a rate of 1/2ml in 1.5kg of hot process soap, lending a nice note to a balsam fir soap that I make for the holidays.

Rating: "Intense, tar-like, woody, dry, smoky phenolic odor" is a very accurate description. It is strong and of high quality, only a very small amount will enrich your recipes with its lingering aroma. To me it smells leathery, spicy, masculine, clean. A prized addition to my collection and a great price!
(Just opening the bottle fills the room with the aroma, I recommend use in diluted form!)
I've had mine for almost a year and it has only gotten better with time.

Rating: This really does have a very strong lovely cedar SMOKE smell. Strong! I wondered what the heck I would use it for??? So it sat there a while. Then I added just one drop to nearly a half gallon of my ginger-cayenne-basil vegetable soup and viola! It's great!!! So, I guess I love this oil after all:)

Rating: First of all, i haven't tried this cade, but the one NDA used to sell. I like to order random samples from time to time. This is such a wonderful smell, but in such a wierd way. I make soap and body stuff, and i don't think of this as a clean kind of smell. It's VERY smoky, and reminds me kf walking through a burned down house...but in a good way if that makes sense. I need to try it for my eczema and stop just pulling out the bottle to smell every few months.
