Haven't had the chance to soap it yet but very nice out of bottle. Soft, lemony, green, with a bit of soft ginger.

Undiluted it smells gingery and woody, and reminded me of dry ginger powder but with a slightly fresher, softer, greener smell. When I diluted it it smelt liked fried ginger. It blends well with other scents, especially lemon grass. The warmth on the skin really lingers.

Straight from the bottle, this oil has a very sweet, almost cola-like fragrance that diffuses quickly upon dilution leaving a bright, green lemongrass scent with the dry sweetness of powdered ginger root. It's produced by the same plant that gives us palmarosa oil and has just a touch of that oils floral scent lingering in its finish that reminds me of geranium. I mix it with lemongrass, palmarosa, vetiver, and other southeast Asian wetland grasses like cypriol. A key ingredient in my homemade "lucky" laundry detergent. Sweet and clean-smelling simultaneously, but the sweetness can be a bit overpowering. Brightens earthy basenotes. At such an affordable price, why not?

First bottle sniff was a gag reflex (like most ginger eo's don't bother trying to sell this by itself) but this is darn good in blends for that "not so over powering" ginger smell. NICE!

If I would have known it so closely relates to citronella I would have passed and gone with the ginger root.

I just recieved this oil and I love it. If you are looking for the root sent, be sure to use the Ginger oil. This is spicy and wonderful, but as noted above it does have a green, grassy note. Still wonderful though!

I ordered the small sample bottle, I wished that I would have bought more. I made myself a body wash using the essential oils of white grapefruit, lime, lemongrass and ginger grass. Very attractive, grassy, dry and gingery. Did not irritate my skin.

I have asked some of my customers to compare ginger root with ginger grass. Every one of them chose the grass over the root! As with many essential oils, the aroma is not what is anticipated and people prefer the gentler grass scent. Interesting!
