Rating: I have to say that I don't really like adding waxes and I never wanted to make a cream or lotion because I didn't want to sell water. But I wanted to make a cream with the ucuuba butter and one with arnica as well for some friends that requested it. So this seemed like a good choice since it was mostly derived from a natural source and was gluten free, plus yes it didn't have an odour, YEAH!!
I just loved how creamy my cream came out. I used less water (actually aloe vera juice) than the recipe called for and managed to get a nice thick cream. I love the feel. My anti aging cream with ucuuba butter makes my skin feel so soft and in less than a month of use I can see a little difference. I am almost 57 years old and smoke so you can imagine.

Rating: I use this wax for a few of my creams and lotions. It lends a soft, creamy texture. I have not had any problems with reactions, but everyone's skin is unique. I will continue to purchase. NDA quality is wonderful.

Rating: I can use this ingredient in everything BUT facial creams/lotions. I must be the only one to have an allergic reaction to this wax - and it was the wax. I've tested batches of cream repeatedly and can use every other oil, butter, and EO with no issues - until I add this wax. Hands and body, I can use it fine, no problem, but on my cheeks, the wax causes an allergic reaction. I ended up with these horrible red pimples (acute eczema) that took many days (and washing my pillow cases, towels, etc) to get under control.
My normal oil/butter (Tamamu oil and mango with lavender, carrot, and helichrysum EO's) cleared up the eczema and took care of the red marks left behind. I'm not real eager to test another version of lanette, but I'd like to try another variety (elsewhere) to see if it's the Cetyl Stearyl Alcohol that gave me the problem, or the Sodium Cetearyl Sulfate.
I really hope it's the latter. Otherwise, I'm stuck with oily facial moisturizers :(
Rating: Needs instructions on temperature requirements, etc. for us newbies.

Rating: My first attempt at making a lotion and it turned out to be easy and popular. The lanette wax created a creamy and smooth lotion that absorbed quickly (something clients really like). I intend to try using it in a cream base. I have always used beeswax before and it can be tricky to keep it smooth and is much slower to absorb. I still like beeswax for salves and balms but lanette wax is what I will use for making future lotions and creams. If you need a recipe purchase "The Creamy Craft of Cosmetic Making" from the books here at New Directions...good recipes.
