Our Moisturizer Base is lighter than the Lotion Base and is a non-greasy sheer formula which absorbs quickly, and glides on easily and evenly to condition and hydrate skin leaving it soft and smooth. This base has been specifically formulated to be extremely robust. Essential Oils, fragrant oils, botanical extracts and various raw materials can be added in order to customize each product.

Usage: We recommend that no more than 0.5% of any essential oil be added to a Liter our cosmetic bases. Exceeding this amount may destabilize bonds between the ingredients. Over time this may cause our bases to lose some of their luxurious properties including viscosity, smooth feel and rate of absorption.

Drum Orders:
• Price is FOB from our warehouse. UPS does not ship drums so shipping charges will be calculated in house with another courier or customers can request their preferred courier.
• Price includes bulk open head drum with plastic liner.
• A lead time of 3 weeks is needed in order to fill a drum order.
• A non-refundable 50% deposit is required.
• Special orders for drums cannot be returned. We encourage our customers to try the smaller sizes before placing a special order for a drum. Our return policy is applicable to regular orders only.

The moisturizer is much thicker than I was expecting. I felt the consistency is closer to a "cream." Keep that in mind when purchasing. Of course, you can add distilled water or a hydrosol to thin it out, and have a multipurpose base. I've found it absorbs well into the skin, and creates a long lasting barrier.

You could say I am new to the Natural Body Product creation, but N.D. makes it pretty easy. After 3 years of study and experimentation I can say.. 'This by far is the best Moisturizer Base'. I added some essential oils, silk powder, honey powder, zinc oxide, meadowfoam oil, and Sandalwood Hydrosol... and now have a beautiful facial moisturizer that I use for hands and body too. Do I love this? You betcha! All of the ingredients I mentioned above I purchased from New Directions... the best in the industry! Thanks ND!

I'm new to this and this was my first base I decided to try. I love it!! I added some EO's and it glided on so easily and absorbed right into my skin leaving it so unbelievably soft without feeling greasy at all....and no break outs!! which is kinda huge for me :)... I was thinking it might not be thick enough for my mom (she has much drier skin than me) but she loved it too. She said it was perfect. This was my very first time making a face cream and it was a huge success. I also love it for my hands as it makes them really soft and moisturized without that greasy after feel. This is for sure a base I will always keep in stock. Thank you so much NDA for taking the guesswork out of this

Goes on thick, but absorbs quickly and does not feel heavy or oily. Blends well with other creams. I found that my skin felt a little dry in my usual problem areas after a couple of hours, but perhaps some additives or EOs would alleviate this. I also imagine that EOs would thin the base out a little bit. Will have to experiment...

This moisturizer is excellent! I just added my favourite essential oil - 5% of the weight and I have a favourite moisturizer! There is no sticky residue and my skin feels soft and silky.

Absolutely THE preferred product with which to create fully custom lotion products. Takes fragrances nicely, nice texture for lotion, moisturizes well, takes colors evenly. What more can I say about it? It is my lotion base of choice!

Hands down, this is the best moisturizer I have ever tried. It goes on a little thick, but disperses well, absorbes quickly, and doesn't leave your hands greasy. It takes fragrance oils very well, with about 24-48 hours curing time, and doesn't have a chemical under-smell. I've tried lotions from other online retailers, but I will continue to use only New Directions for my moisturizers.

Of all products NDA carries, this one seems to puzzle me the most. One the one hand, it's works so well as a moisturizer; it's light, it's silky smooth, and it penetrates into the skin quickly. But on the other hand, there is this faint chemical smelling scent. I wonder if NDA can try to improve their formula a bit so when it's unscented, it would smell more natural? Thanks!

I make specialized moisturizers with essential oils and have found that this is the best base. It's not too oily, it absorbs nicely into the skin and everyone loves it. Great products at affordable prices.
