Description: The rose is one of the worlds best known flowers - stunning and exotic in both visual appearance and aroma.

Common Uses: Rose Bulgarian Absolute is a very common oil in the perfume and aromatic industry. Aromatherapists also credit it with being an exotic aphrodisiac, an emollient in skin care products, and a balancer of the spirit.

Blends well with: Rose Bulgarian Absolute generally blends well with all oils, though it works particularly well with Bergamot, Chamomile German, Chamomile Roman, Clary Sage, Geranium, Melissa, Rosewood, Sandalwood, and Ylang-ylang.
Aromatic Scent: Rose Bulgarian Absolute has a very complex, sweet floral scent. Its reputation of being a must ingredient in perfumes is well deserved.
History: Bulgaria has over a 300 year tradition in essential rose oil distillation. Approximately 4000 kilograms of petals are required to produce 1 kilogram of pure rose oil. Its exotic nature and value were appreciated in ancient times by the Greeks, Chinese, Indians, Persians and Romans. All documentation indicates that their medical applications of the essential oil were identical to those that exist today.
Cautions: It is important to note that all absolutes are extremely concentrated by nature. They should not be evaluated in this state unless you are accustomed to the undiluted fragrance. For those trying Absolutes for the first time, we strongly recommend they be evaluated in dilution. Otherwise, the complexity of the fragrance - particularly the rare and exotic notes - becomes lost.

This is a delicious rose absolute. The aroma is full, complex and intense with a cognac/licquer-like, very slightly balsamic quality behind the floral notes. A little goes a long, long way. Given the prices I've seen on other damask rose compounds, this little gem is an "absolute" bargain.

I wish I could give this product more stars! I have never like rose scents in the past. Like manufactured vanilla, fake rose scents have always seemed cloying and chemical, not like the true scent at all. I was absolutely thrilled with this product. It is absolutely true rose scent. I use this oil with patchouli and neroli (in jojoba) to create a personal body cream for myself, but have also used it in mp soaps with excellent results. Affordable quality in every precious drop!!

I've been debating on whether or not to buy this oil but now I regret not buying it sooner. I just can't take my nose out of this bottle. It smells so wonderful, makes me feel happy lol. I've read that out of all the essential oils the Rose Bulgaria has the highest of all frequency over 300. It truly is a lovely oil.

Lovely, add some drops of lavender, 2 drops of rose absolute, and 2- drops of Ylang Ylang after filling tub with warm water, and relax. Smell wonderful, along with feeling very relaxed.

Oh my goodness, where do I begin? Is it the incredibly uplifting scent that is pure heaven, the color that is so rich and luxurious or the incredible skin benefits it provides? All I can say is I'm hooked. I used to buy rose oil from another source in dilution but NOTHING beats the absolute. I use it in my anti aging night cream and also include it in a "special batch" of body lotion for me :) My skin has never felt silkier or smelled more fragrant. Although the absolutes are more pricey in general, in comparison to other sellers, the price is quite reasonable. Pure Luxury!!

I purchased Rose Bulgarian and love it blended with shea butter for use on my scars from a surgery. I loved it so much I began selling it in a blend for others to enjoy. Its anti-inflammatory, erlaxing qulaities and the fact that it reduces scarring is a great side benefit. It's light sweet fragrance is not over powering at all. I've since put it in a "power pack" of EO's that I take with me when I go to sacred sites around the world. It also wonderful in the bath water.Thanks for making it so attainable for the common folk!

Rosa Damascena not Rosa Centifolia. I bought this rose oil thinking that it was centifolia (what most people think of when they think of rose). Instead it was damascus rose. For those who have not smelled this variety it is much muskier than the centifolia. At first I thought that I had received a bad batch of rose oil, but then I realized it was the damascena. Don't get me wrong NDA's Rose Bulgarian is a fine oil, but the damascena is very much an acquired taste. In general I find that it works best blended with other oils. On its own it can sometimes smell like decaying petals, however in blends (especially with centifolia) it gives a warm musky note to your fragrances. The 3% dilution is strong and will produce a noticable smell in CP soap. I found NDA's 3% dilution to be as strong as my 5% centifolia from the heath food store.

She described my premature concoction (less than two days old) as fruity, spicy, sweet and pretty. That's what this Rose Bulgarian Absolute will do for your formula, it'll add a little pretty to the mix. By as much as you can afford, add some Ylang Ylang to the recipe as well as some bergamot, then smile.

i love the smell of rose! and this eo captures that smell perfectly! it is an absolute so it is super super concentrated. a little bottle will last a long way. i am waiting to receive the scentball diffusers so i could try it in that. so far i've diluted it in almond sweet and been using it as a massage oil. the scent is lovely!

Smells like a dew-covered bloom in the morning sun! My favorite of ND's Rose absolutes, the Rose Bulgarian is both fresh & sweet, with inherent citrusy notes -- a bright, happy, joyful rose scent! Superb quality for the price. Also, please note that the absolute has a deep orangey-red color, which lends a warm tone to your products. If you're seeking a "musky" rose scent, try the Iranian version instead (but personally, I much prefer the Bulgarian!)

I am a fan. I was skeptical that this would be a good quality EO because the price relative to other EOs is so much less. I thought for sure it would be poor quality. I have used Young Living for years and have become sold that they were the "best on the market"... well, I can now say I was wrong. I am turning everyone I know onto this website and these oils because the price is amazing for the quality. I use this oil almost daily, a drop in my diffuser, in my bath with salts. Of course, use very sparingly as it is an absolute, but truly one you will fall in love with.

Notice what part of the flower, stem, leaf, etc. is being used and where they are grown / distilled from. New Directions is very fair and reputable, I would trust any oil they offer.
